The vaudeville bill which
It 'Toy Town Rovue." One singing and dancing male leader directs the movements of half a dozen girls, who sing a little, dance a little and march about quite a bit. The act will remind you of scenes in "Fifl," which was presented by clever amateurs at the Grand last season. Only there's no suggestion of Joe Sedletzeck in the vaudeville try. Huflford and Chain, singing and talking comics, make effective use of Frank Holland's jitney song. Olga, the attractive voung woman who plays upon the violin while dancing around, Just dancing around, opens the bill. XASt night audiences were very generous with their applause.
Thi mall order sale of seats for the engagement of "Sari," which opens the season at the Grand a week from next Friday night, is now on. Jack Pratt, who ie in advance of "Sari," says of the production: "Sari" was a year and a half In New York. The music is by iBmtnerich Kalmnn and it has passionate Are and joyous, piquant melodies as well as various dance numbers who appeal is resistless. The song hits, "Love Has Wfnsrs," "Softly Through the Summer Night," "Love's Own Sweet Song." "My Faithful £tr&£ivarf_\ and the rollicking, eccentric dance ''The' Hazazaa."

Marguerite Clark's latest screen vehicle, "Hejene of the North," presents this dainty star in tne most unique characterization she has yet assumed since her triumphant debut in motion pictures, under the management of the Famous Players' Film company. This latest six-part feature on the Paramount program combines in a decidedly novel manner the cultured atmosphere of aristocratic society circles with the rugged environment of the trackless wastes of northwestern Canada. 1-Jetween these far extremes the drama sways with uninterrupted fascination and whether in the limitless wilds, or the luxurious drawing room, Marguerite Clark is equally effective and enchanting.
Aside, from the extraordinary atmospheric qualities of this dramatic romance. the entire construction of the story is very original, beginning, as it does, in the fashionable home of an English society lady, and developing from that sheltered spot into the open spaces of the Canadian woods, where a virile melodramatic plot ensues, culminating romantically in the cozy corner where the drama began.
Included in this divergent contrast of scenery Is every emotion and element of drama possible to a modern romance. Fine pictorial effects have been obtained in the scenes centering about the activities of the northwests ern mounted police in their attempts to capture the man whom Helene fears as much as she loves the other man whom the former threatens. A splendid cast, including Conway Tearle, who recently distinguished himself In support of William Faversham In "Tne Hawk" Elliott Dexter, Frank Losee, David Wall, who will be pleasantly remembered for effective work in previous Famous Players#" productions- Ida Darling and Brigham Boyce should 'make the production a memorable one.
This novel Six-part feature will be se«n for the last time in Terre Haute at the American today. The bill at the American Wednesday and Thursday will be "The Little Dutch Girl," an adaptation of Ouida's novel, "Two Little Wooden Shoes," with Vivian Martin in the role of Little Dutch. It is the story of an unsophisticated little girl who falls in love with an artist and dies of a brokep heart after being disso'.usionized. Following "The Little Dutch Girl** at the American comes "Trilby," with Clara Kimball Young in the name part and Wilton Lackaye in his original role, Svengali,

and numerous other outdoor entertainments for opposition, it was rather remarkable to see the Grand crowded at matinee showings of "The Two Orphans." This film, from present indications, will break all records for attendance at a local picture show. Theda Bara is only one of a dozen stars in the cast. As Henriette, one of the two orphans, Miss Bara demonstrates that she can play the ingenue as well as be a vampire lady in films.

Slavin in the oast, has been booked at the Varieties for next Friday, Another V-L-S-E feature, "Sins of the Mother," is booked to return for Thursday only, Anita Stewart, Julia Swayne Gordon and Earle Williams are in the cast of this interesting photodrama.
