A wedding of much interest owing to the prominence of both the brideelect and her family is that of Miss Helen Ward Wagner, whose marriage to John Lansford McCloud, of Detroit, Mich., ia scheduled for Thursday evening, May 6. The ceremony will take place at the home of the brideelect's parents, Prof, and Mrs. Frank Caspar Wagner, South Sixth street, at 8 o'clock, with the Rev. L. Curtis Talmadge, of the First Congregational church, officiating. The guests will include only the relatives and intimate friends of the two families.
The bride's attendants will be her sisters and brothers. Miss Priscilla Wagner, who is at Saratoga r-prin^s,
Y., attending the Skidmore school of art, returns Thursday to attend the Marshall-Alexander wedding, and who will remain for the Wagner-McCloud wedding and act as maid of honor. Miss Barbara Wagner will act as bridesmaid. Frank Caspar Wagner, jr., and Wyllis Wagner will be the bridegroom's attendants with the former as best man. John Kent Lamb and Barbara Elizabeth Jenkins will serve as flower bearers.
Miss Wagner will be given a number of prenuptial parties. The first party for Miss Wagner was given Friday afternoon by Miss Anna Sankey at her home on Poplar street, having as guests the members of the alumni Alpha Phi sorority, of which Miss Wagner is a member from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, from which college she was graduated.
Members of the Alpha Phi have planned a luncheon for Miss Wagner Saturday afternoon at the hotel Demtftg, and the following Tuesday, May 4, 'Miss Wagner will be given a luncheon by Mrs. Omar C. Mewhinney and Mrs. Clarence A. Royse at the home of Mrs. Mewhinney on South Center street.

Prizes were awarded Claricey Jackson and Myra Robbins. The next meeting will be at the home of Myra Robbins, 1328 Second avenue. A number of friends surprised Fred Kupferer Wednesday evening in honor of his twenty-third birthday anniversary. Music and games furnished the entertainment, after which ice cream and cake were served.

BUTCHER KNIVES AS WEAPONS.
Men Battle Over Woman, and One Is Badly Slashed. With a woman as the reason, John Brownfield, 21, and Scott Vetor, 28 years old, went after each other with butcher knives near 202 Eagle street last night, and Brownfield was sent to St. Anthony's hospital, where a number of slashes across his back and shoulders were attended by Dr. Rudolph Yung, after which he was taken to the county jail, where Vetor also was detained.
Brownfield haa been in jail since January 19 serving a term for stealing bicycles, and was released only yesterday morning.
May and Zora Smith, Inmates of the house, were also sent to jail, charged with statutory offenses. It is said they refused to tell the officers of the trouble. The arrests were made by Patrolmen Barry and Boyies.
NURSES TO GET DIPLOMAS.
Six, to Union Be Graduated From Hospital School.
Diplomas will be given to seven nurses when the graduation exercises of the Union hospital training school are held May 24. The graduates will be Miss Lola Garner and Miss Grace Smith, of Terre Haute, Miss Blanche Llfflck, Miss Bessie Thomas, Miss Clara Bierhaum and Miss Liydia Clouse, of Marshall, HI., and Miss Blanche Irwin, of Rockvllle. The exercises probably will be held at the First Congregational church.
Miss Ethel Chisholm, superintendent of the school and head nurse at the hospital, has been called to Canada by the serious illness of her mother and during her absence Miss G. E* Donham is in charge.
GREECE BEADY TO JOIN WAX?
PARIS, April 24.—2.20 p. m.— Christakis Zorgraphos, foreign minister of Greece, is quoted today by the information as declaring that Greece was ready to unite with the allies in operations at the Dardanelles If invited to do so.
The information says that M. Zographos made this statement to Hubert Jacques, a correspondent of this newspaper. Up to the present time, he said, Greece had not been asked to co-operate with the allies.

The ball team of Good Will council No. 277, Young Men's institute ve. Terre Haute Maroons this afternoon on the Van diamond, 25th and the Van railroad, will be the last practioe game as on next Sunday the city league opens and the team has the first of the series which will be played with the Moose in the afternoon at Athletic park. All members have been urged to be on hand this afternoon and also on the following Sunday when the big noise starts and root for your team.
All members are urged to attend the meeting on Tuesday and bring an application for the next class which proba*^ will be initiated some time during -May. The regular monthly memorial services will also be held at the meeting on Tuesday evening.

NOTES OP LOCAL LODGES.
All plans for the celebration of the nnety-eighth anniversary of the Odd Fellows' lodge, to be held Monday, were announced completed last night. Committees from the various lodges of the county nave charge of the arrangements for the anniversary celebration. During the celebration the four subordinate degrees of the order wili be conferred at the Odd Fellows' temple at Eighth and Ohio streets at 2:30 o'clock in the afternoon, and the Rebekah degrees will be conferrd at the hall at Seventh and Wabash avnue at the same hour.
A parade will be given in the evening at 7:30 o'clock and it will disband at the Central Christian church, where Deputy Grand Marshal Jesse McBeth will speak. Invitations have been extended to the Brazil and Clinton lodges and it is expected that 3,500 members of the order will participate In the celebration. I

Twenty men were nominated for the six places as delegates from Terre Haute association No. 60, Glass Bottle Blowers' association, to the national convention at East St. Louis, 111., in June, last night at the regular meeting of the association. Many Important questions which will be brought before the national body were discussed at the meeting. The following were nominated: Horace Wildermu^h, Frank Miller, Sam Holman, Clifford Lyon, Bert Richardson, Joseph Pogue, John Chamberlain, Sam Austin, Charles Brown, Dan Taylor, J. Thornton, Geo. Hartman, Charles Vaughn, John Roberts, Harley Davis, John Robinson, Eil Noonan, Charles Zupke, James McClain and Jamss Heath. The polls were open from 1 o'clock yesterday afternoon until 7 o'clock laBt night, when the meeting was called and the committee in charge announced the list of nominations. The election of delegates will be held the first meeting night in May.
