EVANGELIST ATTRACTS AT
Estimated That 15,000 Persons Heard Sunday Sermons of M. H. Lyon at Big Tabernacle.
Exceptionally lange audiences greeted Evangelist M. H. Lyon at three meetings Sunday in the big tabernacle on Ohio street. In fact, ministers who were present said the audience at night •was the largest audience which ever attended a religious meeting in this city. The tabernacle was built to seat 6,000 persons, and it was crowded and hundreds were turned away.
It was estimated that fully 15,000 persons attended the three sermons, and collections amounted to $268. Music was furnished by a choir of 800 voices under the leadership of Lorcn Jones, musical director of the Lyon party.
In the morning Rev. Lyon spoke on "Reasons for Revivals." In this addrees he discussed the prejudice which he said prevails against evangelists. He declared that evangelists should not be judged by a single act, and that while things might be done in the campaign which would seem strange to some christians, they would be done according to the proved method of saving souls. "Evangelism is important," said Rev. Lyon, "because it was the method ustKl very largely by Christ and his apostles. If Jesus belonged to any one order of the ministry he was an evangelist."
In the afternon he spoke on "WitTiessing for Christ." He said: Witnessing for Christ. "In the first place, we can witness by our words. That is the way the apostles witnessed at Pentecost. The •word of God has distinctly said that It is by tlfe foolishness of preaching (not the preaching of foolishness) that God has seen fit to save them •which believe. This was how Stephen witnessed, and he did it so effectively that the only way they could stop his influence was to kill him. It was by this method that Phillip witnessed when he went down into Samaria, and by his words there was started such a great revival that Peter and John had to come to help him. "In our day we are getting away from this form of testimony. The dumb demon seems to have taken possession in many of our churches. As some one has said, many are live rivers that flow into the North sea— frozen at the mouth. In spiritual matters they are tongue-tied, but tied in l^a middle, wagging both waj*s. A person can always talk about the thing he is interested in. That will be on his lips which is uppermost in his mind. When the disciples were filled wth the Holy Spirit at Pentecost, they epoke with other tongues. It was not only a change "of language, but also a (Change of theme. "But we can bear witness for ifesus (also by our works. This is a very |ractical age in which we are living. "But there is another form of testimony far greater than either of these. It is witnessing by our lives. JSTou might have Christian fruit withtout a Christian fruit tree. You might the apples or pears on a maple, that would not make an apple or pear tree. But you cannot have a Iruly Christian life without its evidence In Christian works. The cause £uaraotees the effect. Greater than thing, we can say or do is what are."

Value of a SouL
The evening sermon was on "The ,7alue of a Soul." The evangelist said, "The difference in human lives is MTery largely a difference in standards |^f value®. you know what a man \jdeecma of greater and what he considers ,'ijf lesser Importance, you have a key go his character and an index to his fbture. All effort and Incentive also tlire proportionate to realization of '•ptatue. No man would leave the com, torts of homo to go to the gold fields pf Alaska merely to obtain worthless £and or stones. He is willing to ensure all the rigors and hardships of that Arctic climate because he hopes to obtain possession of a certain yellow metal which will bring to him and

Ills loved ones, not only the necessities, trat aJBo the luxuries of life. If in these coming days, we are to get men and women to sacrifice of their time find strength and substance in the Itrorfc of the salvation of souls, it wiil Ibe because that they have been gripped by the great truth, that a human soul Is the most precious treasure in all God's universe. And Just in proportion lis they realize the value of the soul
ALMOST CRAZY WITH ITCHING ANDBUMG
SEATTLE, Wash., Jan. 26, 1915.— ••My face and body were a solid mass little sores which itched and burned me so badly that I almost went crazy. They started in the form of little pimples which opened and formed sores. I could not sleep at night and at work If I became overheated it would itch rtomethi^ig terrible. I used all kinds of soaps, salves and prescriptions that did me no good. I had this skin trouble for a year or more before I used Resinol. As soon as I started using Resinol Ointment and Resinol Soap the Itching and burning stopped at once, and in five weeks my face and body were as clear and soft as could be. I Used only two jars of Resinol Ointment and three cakes of Resinol Soap. "A friend of mine had a bad case of gkin trouble. His face was broken out go badly he was ashamed to go out on the street. I told him to use Resinol Ointment and Resinol Soap and in four weeks he was all well and no one could not tell he ever had a pimple or sore on his face." (Signed) August E. will they put forth earnest effort in the work of human rescue. "The laws of our country are written more for the protection of property than for the protection of lifeGold is the god of more people than is Jesus. The golden rule has too often given way to the rule of gold. As far back as the beginning of our own civil war, when our nation needed soldiers, the government drafted men into the service. Did they draft money too? Oil, no. They went down to the money kings of the east and said, please give us funds to carry on the war. We will pay you any rate of interest you name. They drafted men, but they begged money. Prophecy tells us the time will come when a man will be regarded of more value than much fine gold, but we have not yet reached that period. We are caring more for money than for manhood, more for coin than for character, more for dollars than for duty. Many more people are interested in making a living than they are in .malting a life. "Whenever you get an employer soundly converted, you will have a man that will look upon his business as a means of serving God. It is his opportunity to contribute to human welfare. And when you get an employe thoroughly converted, he will look upon his employer, not as one from whom he is to get as much as he can, and to give as little as possible in return but he "will have a spirit and purpose to labor for the common good. The motto of both the employer and the employe will be, 'All for each and each for all.'"
