Raymond Teal, the actor-manager whose musical stock company headed by James P. Lee and his daughter, Madeline Lee, has so successfully inaugurated its spring season at the Grand, had not. until last Sunday night, faced a Terre Haute audience in fifteen rears. Mr. Lee was an end man in* the late William H. TV est minstrel show, the season before that sifted and popular entertainer died. Mr. Lee wan here with a musical show twelve rears ago. His daughter, then a child of five, was a member of the ('ompanv. Since they have been touring the country together, Mr. Teal and Mr Lee have produced more than forty musical plays. Many of these were old •successes revamped and made up to date bv the interpolation of current song hits. When "The Funny Moon" was first presented under the title of "The Three Hats." electric cars were not in use. In the present version, however, Mr. Lee keeps abreast of the times. When one of the characters mentions a cabaret, Mr. Lee says: "What do want with a cab? I ride in jitneys."

Secretary E. H. Clifford, of the chamber of commerce, and Sam Lane, went to Paris. 111., Wednesday afternoon, io stir up interest in the efforts that ar» being made by Terre Haute and Pans, (o have the route of the Pike's peak ocean to ocean highway, pass through the two cities. Clifford addressed a meeting of business men at Odon Tuesday evening.
