The ticket sale for the charity ball for the Flora Gulick Boys' club to be held Thursday evening, October 22, at the new Hotel Deming, is steadily increasing, and every indication is for a brilliant event. Interest is being taken in the affair for a two-fold reason first the benefit the boys' club will receive and then the opportunity for the people to see the new hotel under such favorable condiions. Mrs. Ray Greene Jenckes, chairman of the arrangements committee, is making every effort haVe a brilliant success and every citizen should feel called upon to assist in every way possible.
Manager W. A. Cocliran has planned a special supper for the evening which is to be served at 10:^0 o'clock. The program provides for a number of unique novelties and Che music for the dancing will be furnished by the Douglass orchestra, of Indissnapolis, famous lor its excellent dance iruusic. For those not desiring to dance arrangements have been made for cards.
Bvery one interested in the club is invited to be present. Admission to the ball room will be by ticket and these tickets may be procured from the Tribune, Star, Spectator and the office et James E. Somes on LAiiio street.
A large number of out of town visiters have purchased tickets for he ball.
Mrs. J. J. SchEicher, of North Eighth street, with her Sunday school claas of intermediates of the Maple Avenue •IS. E. church, spent an interesting Snnday afternoon in social work. The feoys accompanied by Mrs. Schlicher
Tfsited four families in distress and fceed. One of the families visited was that of a fellow classmate and this jfarrtily was given a basket filled wli.h previsions and a bunch of flowers. One -fistt was to a blind mother of four children, who are sadly in need of necessities. Another visit was where a number of the neighborhood children has assembled. The class stopped and entertained them with Sunday school eongs.
The last visit was to a small hack df two rooms, in one room there was A faimiiy of eight being housed. Tbe_ youngest member of the family was a three weeks' old baby and the corner of the one bed which was for the baby's ude was covered with an old cajvvas •*&gon top to keep out the rain and feather.
Mr. and Mrs. James Hoskins, of J&outh Sixth street, had the honor of eiitertainin« the first party at the new Hotel filming. Mr. and Mrs. Hoskins have as their guests Mr. and Mrs. Charles Minshall, of Chicago, and the privilege was granted Mr. and Mrs. Hoskins in Order that the Minshalls liiight see the new hotel before leaving fbr their home. An out-of-town guest 6f distinction also at the dinner was Sirs. Jacob Baur, of Chicago, who came to Attend the wadding of her niece, [kiss Carabelle Greiner, and Harry ©pence Dickey. Mrs. Wishart accompanied Miss Wishart to her home in Springfield, where she will visit for a week longer before
returning to Terre Haute. A quiet home wedding took place Sunday when Miss Rose Grinslade becime the bride of James Monroe, of t»osey county. The ceremony was pronounced at 5:30 O'clock Sunday at the hpme of the bride's parents, 526 South Thirteenth and One-hair street, the Rev. Mr. Bast officiating.

Mrs, Denny pl&nned a splendid chicken dinner with birthday cake and lighted cartdleii for the little host and seven of his young friends.
Mrs. Ray Greene Jenckes spent Monday in Clinton, called there by the death of Mrs. J. J. Higgins, mother of Miss Alice Higgins,. The funeral will take place Wednesday afternoon and Will be attended by the tnembers ot the Country club luncheoti club, of Whitlh Miss Higgins is a Member.
