Resolutions endorsing the labor temple movement and placing the Central Labor uirton on record as opposed to prohibiting members to work for employers not members of an employers' organization, have been passed by the local labor body The resolutions follow: "Whereas, there is an organization In this city known as the Terre Haute Labor Temple association, and, whereas, a committee from this body, after investigation, found that all business had been transacted with honestness of purpose, and, whereas, we believe that the building of the labor temple to be a laudable undertaking and worthy of success and the support of all organisations, and all individuals of organised i&j}0r jn this vicinity, "Therefore, be it resolved, that we, the Central Labor union of Vigo county, endorse the movement known as the Teocre Haute Labor Temple association and pledge it our moral and financial support, and, be It further resolved, "That we recommend the same for the favorable consideration to all the organizations affiliated with this body, and to all kindred organizations In Vigo county and vicinity, "And be it further resolved, that we earnestly urge them to purchase stock both as organizations and individuals so for as our financial condition will allow, that this movement shall be the grand and ultimate success that It deserves."
The second resolution follows: "Whereas, the federal Sherman antitrust, both the old and the amended law, provide that no two or more organizations can combine either by contract or by secret collusion, to regulate prices on any commodity, and, whereas, the statute of this state provides also against any two individuals or organizations oonsplrlng to regulate the prices on any article offered for sale, therefore it is the attitude of this Central Labor union that no affiliated union should incriminate Itself by contracting with an employers' association, whereby the Journeymen will not be permitted to work for any employer who Is not a members of the employers' association."
