I SULLIVAN ENTERS DISEASE MOVEMENT

A Great Demonstration Will Take Place October 2 in Connection With State Fight.

By Special Correspondent. SULLIVAN, Ind., Sept. 7.—Plans for the greatest social service enterprise Sullivan has ever undertaken were made at the city hall, when details for disease prevention day on October 2 were worked out. Committees were chosen and the general plan outlined. This plan includes a monster parade, with floats, a band, automobiles appropriately decorated, and exhibits cleverly arranged—all designed to bring home to the public the necessity for campaigns towards disease prevention.

In the disease prevention day scheme is also included a number of exhibits to be given by tho ?-Wiols and other agencies of social

service.

The mayor likeii will issue a proclamation in the near future, calling on all citizens to assist in making disease prevention day a success, and declaring a half holiday.

The committees chosen were: Committee on schools—Prof. C. N. Vance, Supt. Richard Park, Misses Miniiie Lyons and Mayme Hinkle, -S. M. Gamble and Jess Lord.

National Road Closed.

MARTINSVILLE, 111., Sept. 7.—The old National road east of this place has been closed for a distance of about two miles by Robert Thompson, who has the contract for building the state aid road, which extends from the city limits east about one mile. Mr. Thompson has a large force at work moving dirt and making fillings and expects to start the concrete work in about ten days.
