BOYS' CLUB CAMP IS PITCHED EAST OF CITY

Eighteen Boys Under Supervision of Raymond Miller Spent First Hight At Jloose Park.

At 8: St) o'clock Thursday afternoon, 18 members of the Flora Gulick Boys' club, under supervision of Superintendent Flora Gulick and Assistant Superintendent Raymond Miller, embarked on the eastbound Brazil interurban car for Moooe pa youngsters are gointo their summer camp. The first thing the most of the boys did on their arrival at the park was to take a swim, and then they went to work with a will, putting dp their big tent and getting the camp in running order. A big table was built out or doors for the boys to uat on and eaf-h one of them was given a number and they were lined up in military style aiuj inarched to their first meal in the open.

Mrs. Gulick had arranged for a quantity of straw to put in the big sleeping tent, but the boys declared that they wanted to sleep out of doors "like real Indians," so they took their blankets and spread them under the trees in true backwoods fashion and went to

veleep.

The camp is an ideal location for the boys. There is a big dancing pavilion on the grounds, with a piano in It, which gives Miller a chance to entertain the boys with music. There Is Salsa plenty of fresh water for swlm/mlng and an excellent well to eupply drinking water. Fred Planque and '*William HofC, two young men, are at the camp assisting Mr. Miller In caring for the boys.

During the time that the boy* are in camp, Herbert Beasley, one of the leaders, will keep a diary of everything that happens and in this manner Mrs. Gulick will be able to tell how the oamp Is progressing and how the boys are wJoying themselves.

INDIANA LAWYERS ELECT.

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind., July 10—The Intense heat lnterferred somewhat with the afternoon session yesterday of the anual meeting of th Indiana •t&te bar association, many delegates Beemlng to prefer the hotel lobby to nthe convention hall. The attendance was not so large as on the opening •day but everybody was on hand for the banquet in the evening, which brought the meeting to a close.

Routine business occupied much of the time, only one paper being read. Officers for the ensuing year were elected as follows: President, Thomas 3D. Davidson, Greensburg vice president, Robert W. McBride, Indianapola secretary, George H. Batcheler, Indianapolis treasurer, Eilias D. Sals'bury, Indianapolis. Members of the executive committee: Conrad Wolf, Kokomo William Darroch, Kentland, and James P. Wason, Delphi.

GIVEN SURPRISE SHOWER.

By Special Correspondent. CHRISMAN, 111., July 10.—Ladies from the Baptist congregation in this ,city went to the home of Rev. and Mrs. Horace J. Wheeler on Wednesday afternoon and very pleasantly surprised Miss Mildred Emmeline Wheeler with a miscelloneaus shower, 'the marriage of whom to George Stetson Sloman will occur July 16. A 'miniature "prairie schooner" wagon was decorated with all kinds of vegetables and cooking utensils and was drawn by little Miss Louise Fellers and James Van Cleave, who were attired as rural bride and groom.

POLICE UNCOVER PLOT TO ROB MANY HOUSES

Find Pencil Marks in Shape of Arrows and Words "Enter Here" Near Windows.

Following an investigation subsequent to the robbery of Miss Fannie Blake's residence, 668 Farrlngton street, in which jewelry valued at more than $100 was taken, the police believe they have uncovered a plot to rob several residences on South Center street and South" Seventh street.

The robbery at the Blake residence occurred Monday night, and entrance was gained through a bed room window which had been left unlocked while members of the family were calling. The next morning neighbors found pencil marks on their houses, for the most part on the weather boarding. The marks were in shape of arrows, and each pointed to a window.

Accompanying each arrow were scribbled the words, "enter here." The words were badly written and the police are Inclined to believe the person who wrote them was either very much in a hurry or was illiterate.

At first the marks could not be explained, but when news of the Blake robbery spread, it was surmised by the police that the marks were to lead thieves to the other houses. There were no marks beneath the window ot the Blake residence, however. Special officers have been guarding the vicinity for two nights, but no suspicious persons have been seen in the neighborhood.

The homes which bore the marks were those of Paul Bogart, 919 South Seventh street D. P. Cox, 1024 South Center street George R. Grimes, 1006 '-'onth Center street Omar Mewhinney, 100 South Center street, and Albert Froeb, 1016 South Center street.
