Mr. and Mrs. Will Teel of Ninth and College streets gave a delightful euchre party last night in honor of Miss Gibson of Indianapolis, who is visiting Mr. and Mrs. Spurgeou. Six tables played. The next reception of the Entre Nou3 Dancing club is anonunced for Wednesday evening, February 4th, at Duenweg's Academy. Dancing begins promptly at 8:30.
A delightful dance was given at the residence of Miss Rose Allen Thursday, Jan. 29, in honor of Miss Ethel Alien of Danville. The Friday Literary club met with Mrs. Conner, 1318 South Fourth street. Mrs. Herbert Briggs read a paper on the early history of Indiana, and Mrs. Dr. Mattox on "Our State Institutions." Current events were discussed. After the regular program dainty refreshments were served. The next meeting will be with Mrs. Miller, 501 Washington avenue.

Mrs. J. M. Big-wood entertained the Friday club at her home on South Fifth street. Mrs. Sim Waggoner read a paper on "Benvenuto Cellini." Mrs. Conzman read a paper on "The Social Life of the Italian Renaissance." A general discussion followed- these papers. Refreshments were served. Sirs. Oscar Perkins was a guest of the club. The next meeting will be with Mrs. Locke of South Seventh street.
•Mrsu. George Bement will hold a Missionary Tea Monday at 3:30 at her home on Ohio street. An interesting program has been prepared. Rev. Joseph Shurburne Jenckes of British Honduras wil give a talk on South America and his work in a school of which he is at the head. Miss Mollie Blake and Miss Elizabeth Strong will sing solos. All members of St. Stephen's church are invited to be present.
The Misses Tully entertained the D. 0. N. club Tuesday evening at their home on South Fifth street. Miss Theresa Novotny carried off the prize for telling the funniest story. Miss Grace Smith received the consolation.
Miss Helen Blake entertained her card club Friday evening at her home on Butternut Hill east of the city. The prizes were won by Miss Clare Dryer, and Mr! Ben Pine. Mr. Charles Blake won the lone hand prize. Refreshments were served at the close of their games. The cluo will disband until after the lental season.
The Winona Reading Circle will meet Monday evening, February 2. at the home of Miss Lulu Moore, 829 North Ninth street.

The house was beautifully decorated, with palms. At a late hour a^five-course luncheon was served. An enjoyable time was had by all. The Jackson Club danced at their rooms in the Rose' Dispensary building Thursday night. The evening's amusement was superintended by their new president Mr. Cox, who made the occasion a pleasant one. There was a large membership present, and expressed thanks to the president upon the success of his first attempt. The club received an invitation to attend an after dance on next Monday night at Naylor-Cox hall. Until 9 o'clock the hall will be occupied by a dancing class.
The Manhattan Club held its Eighth Annual dance Thursday evening at Nay-lor-Cox hall. About 150 couples were present and a program of 18 dances and six extras "was enjoyed. Music was furnished by the Pickwick Orchestra. Iced drinks were available throughout the evening. The committee having the affair under direction was composed Of Messrs. Miss Erma Moore entertained a number of her friends at her home, 2403 Locust street, Monday evening in honor of her twentv-flrst birthday. Mrs. Stephen J. Young entertained at cards Wednesday afternoon in compliment to Madam Rebekah Stanley cf Indianapolis. The hostess was assisted in receiving by her niece, Miss Cooper. Eight tables played euchre, the prizes being won by Mrs. James Black, Mrs. Will Arnold, Mrs. Mary Blake, Miss Mary Gale Taylor. A three course supper was served. Carnations, palms and pink azalias adorned the different rooms.

The bride was attended by Miss Mayme Strong sister of the groom: James Buchanan acted as best man. Mr. and Mrs. A. Herz and daughter, Miss Henrietta, left Monday for St. Louis, where they attended the wedding of a nephew of Mr. Herz, Mr. W ormser of New York, who married Miss Goldstein. Mr. Herz returned Thursday, while Mrs. Herz and her daughter will remain to see the performance of Ben Hur.
Miss Mary Johnson entertained at cards Wednesday evening at her home on South Seventh street in honor of Miss Mabel Osborne of Frankfort, who is the guest of Miss Bertha Duenweg of South Seventh street. Euchre was played, the prizes being won by Miss Mabel Osborne. Miss Nell Robinson, Mr. Malcolm Steele and Mr. Wayne Bigwood. Refreshments were served at the close of the .games.

Miss Izetta Brewer delightfully entertained a number of her friends at her home, 1013 Maple avenue, Friday, Jan. 23d, from 4 to 6 o'clock in honor of her eleventh birthday. She was the recipient of many beautiful presents. An enjoyable evening was spent in various games and music, after which dainty refreshments were served. The Laurel Wreath club met in regular session Thursday "afternoon at the home of Mrs. Burnett, 020 South Sixteenth street. The afternoon was pleasantly spent in games and conversation. A contest was enjoyed for which Mrs. Alice Stinson carried off first prize, a beautiful glass dish and Mrs. Glover was awarded consolation, a dainty little vase. The next meeting will be with Mrs. Junkins, a member of the club.

The Collett Park W. C. T. U. held a mothers' meeting Thursday afternoon at the home of Mrs. B. F. Day. There was a good attendance both of members and friends. The teachers of the Seventeenth district school gave a charming reception to the graduates of the school 'Friday night at the School building. The time was spent in playing various games, and 'other amusements, and ended in the Virginia reei. Refreshments were served.

The following account of the marriage of Louis J- Kaufmanii,. manager of the Cook &• Bernh%imer Co. Western branch, in this city, and Miss Florence Gertrude Dunne, is taken from a Richmond Hill (Long Island) paper: .''At St. Jdseph's church, 10 o'clock Thursday morning, Miss Florence Gertrude Dunne, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Dunne of Beaufort street, was married to L. J. Kaufmann, Jr., of Terre Haute, Ind. The ceremony was performed by-Father Porcile, from the Church of Our Lady of Lourdes, East New York. Father Fahey celebrated low mass. After the ceremony the bridal couple and guests rode to the house of Mr. and Mrs. Dunne, the bride's parents, for the wedding breakf/ist and reception. Walter Dunne was best man and Miss May Kaufmann the bridesmaid. The ushers were John Harrington, Edwin H. Kaufmann and Benjamin Murphy. Clarence B. Ivaufnmnn of the Church of the Blessed Sacrament, of Brooklyn, presided at the organ. The bride wore a handsome traveling suit and a foliage hat. Soon after the reception the couple started for their future home in Terre Haute, where Mr. Kaufmann is mannager for the Cook & Bernheimer Co. They will stop ofl at Niagara Falls to spend their honeymoon. Among those present were: Mr. and Mrs. Kaufmann, parents of the groom Mrs. B.
