Charles A. an. Matre, of Muhcie, -Delaware county superintendent', was nominated as tlic new president of the

Indiana State Teachers''Ass^iatiofl, nt»W in'ij session at Indianapolis, after considerable warm argument among the m«mIiers of the committee, and was later fleeted to the office. J. B. Pearey, of Anderson, and William L, Bryan, of Indiana University, were candidates for

nomination against Van-Matre, but the tight gradually simmerced down to between Van Matre and Bryan. The county superintendents were too clever is politicians to be withstood and final ly Van Matre was nominated by a vote of 7 to fi. ilr. Van Matre is a comparatively young man, one of the best-knovni edncators in the state, and is the first county superintendent elected to the presidency of the asociation for a. number of years. The new officers of the association arc:

President—C. A. Van Matre, Muncic. 'Secretgry-Trcasurcr—J. B. Pcarcy, Anderson.

A resolution for the indorsement of the proposition to establish a. new state normal was flattened out during yesterday afternoon's aesnion. It was offered lvr a oommitee of city school superintendents, consisting of J. W. Carr, of Anderson, chairman C. X. McDaniel, of Madison, and R. A. Ogg, of Kokomo. It seemed to be the sentiment of the association that it was not the need of another normal that made good teachers in the .state scarce, but the fact that teaafejara l'ecelve such meager salaries, and it was suggested that if the state's money were spent in paying teachers instead of building a new normal, all would be well. The resolution was voted down by a majorily of the members of the association.

Blood Wine Keeps the Bod/ Warm

When Winter comes you cam always tell the man with thin, •watery blood. He Soes around all bent over hia head drawn own in his collar, hia nose red, face blue, teeth chattering, and his feet and hands like calces of ice. With a little Attention paid to his blood his Winters would be A pleasure. It's the blood that keeps tia warm, that produces the natural' heat, "Blood Wine" will cure a person of the "shivers" no matter how lone he has Buffered with the cold. It will Keep the bands and feet warm instead of "clammy," because it enriches and improves the blood and circulation. People who are indoors a great deal, as in the case of Prof. J. H. Newton, Lowell, Mass., suffer more or less with the cold. To these people we suggest following Prof. Newton's advice: "I consider 'Blood Wine' the finest blood medicine to rejuvenate a worn^jut and run-down system I ever saw. It Improves tbe conditio* of the blood so that one doesn't notice the cold. Since taking 'Blood Wine* I b*ve never been troubled with cold feet or hands, aad have not minded the most severe Winter weatber."
