Chicago Man Who Was Formerly Pas* tor Here May Take Charge for a Time.
A congregational meeting of members of the First Baptist church was held yesterday evening in the church parlors and the question of choosing a minister to succeed Rev. C, D. Case, who resigned several months ago was discussed.
The pulpit committee is said to have no one to suggest for the ministry and upon information to this effect the congregation voted to call a permanent suppljr, who would conduct services until a regular minister could be secured.
An effort is to be made to get Rfev. Kitridgc Wheeler, of C'hi&igo, to take charge of the pulpit temporarily although there is little probability of him being tendered the placo permanently. Rev. Dr. Wheeler was pastor of the First Baptist church about 20 years ago. For the past few years he has not had a regular pastorate although he is still an able minister. If he cannot- be secured some one else will be asked to take the place until the permanent minister is secured.
I11 the meantime the regular pulpit committee will be actively engaged in looking foi a regular minister.
Daily Paper at Linton.
William M. Moss, publisher of the Linton Cali, has decided to again try a daily newspaper in Linton. The Call formerly was a daily, but suspended publication
September, being content to issue a good weekly edition. Tn an editorial notice of reissuing the daily is given as follows: "The reasons given for the suspension of the Daily Call on September 27 wern true, as we shall answer to.God, and we have the figures to show for it, the president of the typographical union who writes abusive squibs of the Call editor for the Record notwithstanding. Our reasons for starting up again are because wo have been assured of much more support than we had before, and have ever .* ree son to believe we will get it. If we don't we will do just as we done before.
