OTHER PROJECTS DROPPED

Smaller Companies Which Were Being Contemplated Are Abandoned as Result of Larger Venture.

The announcement that local capitalists had almost completed the organization of a big concern, to be known as the United Trust company, caused the other similar enterprises under contemplation to be dropped.

The promoters of a $200,000 project held a meeting last night and after discussing the situation it was decided to abandon tbp plan for the present. For this over $100,000 of the stock had been subscribed and in a short time all would have been ready for the application for the charter. Tlie third trust company talked of was one of which Mr. B. G. Hudnut was to have been the president. It was to have, been capitalized at $100,000 with a $25,000 surplus fund. Practically all of the stock had been taken and the organization was to have been perfected within a few days. The promoters were not aware of the plans for a much larger corporation and theiefore there was no liurry about completing their own, only aiming to be ready for business early in the new year. When it was learned that three companies were organizing, an agreement was reached, whereby the men taking stock in the two smaller companies, united in placing their capital with the big concern. The work of completing the organization of the United Trust company, which is to be located in this city, is now well along and articles of incorporation will bo filed and the company will be in business early in the hew year.

WALSH PLAN

PROPOSED LIN:E TO EVANSVILLE A PUZZLE HERE

ADVANTAGES ARE UNCERTAIN

E. & T. H. Has Trunk Line Connections and What Walsh Expects to Accomplish Is Unknown.

The proposed Evansville extension to the Southern Indiana railroad is creating no little talk and comment in local railrdad and business circles. Opinion is divided as to the feasibility of such a plan and as to the probability of .John R. Walsh running into Evansville.

A prominent business man who keeps well informed on railroad matters said today: "Of course you cannot tell what Walsh will do until he. does it, but I can't see why he should want to build an extension into Evansville. E\ansviile offers no advantages. He cannot make connections with anv lnrgo trunk line except the L. & N. and it is already working in conjunction with the E. & T. H.. If he wants to connect with that road I don't see why he does not build to Louisville. Walsh already has connections with the C. & E. I. to Chicago. A branch of the Southern Indiana could be built from Linton to Louisville which would give a rouie from Louisville to Chicago thirteen miles shorter than any other road in existence. "If he really wants to get into Evansville he could buy the E. & T. II. As to the coal fields between Elnora and Linton there is not much in that place. Much depends on this new IndianaHarbor road, which may be built from Indiana Harbor to some point in Sullivan county. This may be a connecting link in the Walsh lines.

Constipation is the rotting, and decaying of undigested food in the alimentary canal. Diseafee germs ansa from this festerlug fnass, which titod their way into the blood. The blood becomes impure and shortly the entire system gives way to the unhealthy condition.

You cannot cure a case like this by taking pills or other common cathartics.. A laxative will not do. A blood medicine is ineffective.
