REDMON MARRIED WOMAN WHO HAD HIM ARRESTED.
JOINED HIM AT CHARLESTON
Woman in the Case Seems to Have Been Born Uncter an Unlucky Star as Several Circumstancis Attest ,•
N. JJ. Itedinon, AVIIO was" recently arrested here by Captain Tom Welch for swindling Miss Alice Fairies out of $500 and taken to Mattoon, 111., for trial, was married to Miss Fames at Charleston. 111., on Saturday afternoon. Kedmon was placed in the Charleston jail in default of bond in the sum of $700. Ilis father and friends interested themselves in his behalf and he was released shortly after noon on Saturday. Soon after being given his freedom he and Miss Farries were married. He gave his age as 23 and she gave hers as 30. Redmon is said to come from a prominent family in Westfield, 111.
The Mattoon Journal says: "Mrs. Alice Farrics, or rather Mrs. Nathan Redmon that now is, was surely born under an unlucky star. After her trials and troubles of the past week, which were finally settled by her marriage to the man wno caused her trouble she was again the victim of bad luck today.
The couple came up to the depot shortly before noon, Mrs. Redmon intending to take the noon train for Westfield to visit her husband's relatives. Just before train time Redmon left his wife and went away from the depot. When the train was due Mrs. Redmoh remembered that, she had not secured her ticket and reached for her pocket book, but that article was missing. A thorough search of the depot and the -platform outside failed to find the missing article. The pocket book contained $10 and the certificate of denosic of the $490 which she put in the bank the day after she received it from the officers who took it from Redmon. She will not lose anything by the certificate being missiner, hut she will be out the $10 as evidently it was picked up by someone, who would not return it if he knew the owner."
