County Commissioners Sanction Asked For Issue of Bonds To Defray Expense Work Requires,
The Sugar Creek Levee comipany through its attorney, Siegel Hughes, filed a petition with the county commissioners for an issue of bonds to the amount of $21,500 to defray expenses of the improvement planned to protect the land on the west side of the Wabash liver from overflow. The matter, was taken under adviement by the board.
The report of the appraisers appointed for the company was filed ^vith the county recorder yesterday.
The total amount of benefits assessed is $24,576.52 and the assessment of damages aggregates $1,380. The benefits were assessed as follows: Farm lands, $22,195.97: Central Terre Haute, better known as Taylorville, $2,051.50, and West Terre Haute $329.05. The board of appraisers was composed of Messrs. John Rovse, Joseph. C. Woolen and Charles J. Davis.
