■«w York MOBOF and Ataek Market New York, January 7. Tho money market la iiuiot and easy at 7 per cent, currency to win Interest, with no attempt to extract oommiaalon. The feeltrfg 1* more cheerful In financial circles. . ... There Is no prospect of a revival of a high rate for money. There is a movement among the city banks to return to the old State system; the Commonwealth and tho Continental Banks are mentioned as having taken the

initial steps.

A scrip dividend of 15 per cent. Is talked of on the Cleveland and Pittsburg Road, to represent tho earnings spent on tho road and the increased value

of their real eatate.

The Plrle party have obtained control of the road for a favorable lease in Cleveland, for tho Atlantic and Groat Western Railroad. It Is also announced that they are after the Toledo and Wabash Railroad, and here, there is talk of a scrip dividend In the future. The Rock Island Railroad has 81,400,000 of first mortgage bonds maturing this year, and the managers already have an appropriation before them for selling new stock to take up tho bonds. The bull clique have been selling heavily within a few days, in view of the probable Increase in the Central stock.

Gold is tirmer. Ranges of the day; $1 35J4@1 Sb%, closing at 81 35%@1 35^. Government stocks are excited, active, and higher. At the first call large amounts were sold for a realization which Wtll not affect tho market. The demand continued at the noon call, with a further advance. Tho prices at the last board were a trifle below tho highest sales, but

the market closed.

Tho railroad share market opened active, excited and strong; Cleveland and Pittsburg rose raoidly to 88%; Rock Island ranged between 118%@119%; Northwestern and St. Paul were noticeably active; New York Central was less dealt in, owing to the uncertainty pf legislation and litigation; Pacific Mail was tho feature, ami sold high at 120''4, and in the afternoon the market, though at one time weak and lower, was strong and active, and closed with prices up to the highest point of the day. In many cases old Southern was especially firm, in expectation of 4 per cent, gain on the an-

nual dividend.

Pittsburgh rose to8974; Wabash and St. Paul were active, as was Pacific Mall, under prospect of payment of back dividends in February. Rock Island was feverish on minora that the company are about to take up an equal amount of bonds which mature in 18,0; if such action is contemplated it is unknown to tho directors of the company In this city. WRINGER.

The Universal Clothes Wringer, “IMfITH Rowell’s Improved Double Gear, can ▼ ▼ not be surpassed or eanalled by any other Wringer for durability, till tbe expiration of the patent for tbe ‘*STOi , GEAR, or fastening above tbe cogs, which prevents them from entirely separating. Any sensible person can understand that a coa wheel wringer having cogs, whether at one or both emu of the rpll, which can play apart and dy oat of gear when a large article ispassing through, is TOMPARATIVELY WORTHLESS, as the Cogs are then of no aid when mmt needed. The UNIVERSAL WRINGER was awarded the Gold Medal at the Great New England Fair, took the first premium at the National Fair at Washington: also, at the State Fairs of EVERY' NORTHERN STATE, and is the only wringer which ever took n firet premium at the Fair of the American Institute. Its sale (now over 350,000 wringer,) is greater than of all the other wringers combined.
