Weekly Review ^ gf tko i Market. - Moxoat. Hevomber 23, 1ML 4 Business in the general jebbiag trad* haa been rather light, hardly as targe as was sxpeoSs* ay oar morehaats, and ths least gleam of hop* for aa increase ia the volume of basinoa* is scarcely perceptible. ^ * In our general markets we have been unable te detect the slighteet suspicion #f * ehaage. In flour then*, has Men aa ehaage of Importance since our last weekly report. Tker* has beea a moderate local damaad for the higher grade*, but eastern prices are still above a shipping point. Ther# is littlo or no inclination to speculate. Bayers are eonteadiag for a dee ine. which holders would probably submit to, if, thereby, sales of maguituds could be effected. A full rang* of quotations will be found below. The market for Wheat haa not changed essentially since our last. There has beea only a moderate inquiry from our city millers, aad but a limited shipping demand. The offe'inga hate been light, aad holders contended for fall prieee, and, generally succeeded in o taining them. In corn there was but a moderate business don*, and the market steady, qoiat, and a Mad* fftmar at the close, bhippers ware taking hold very sparingly, while ther* were but few (peculators on the market. Hew corn has been increasing in receipts for some time pact, but yet they are not large, nor what they should be. The demand has been foir. There ha* been a foir request for oats, but tits market at the close wag qatet, though a trifle
higher.
The demand for ryehas been only moderate, and the market rnlee quiet. Prieee with a downward tendency, though no lower rang* is re-
ported.
Barley has been dull and droopi-g.
f In our last weekly review of provisions w* remarked that prieee for last mason's product were merely nominal, and the supply of old staff nearly axhansted. In consequence of the same state of affairs still existing w* have been unable to learn of *ar transactions. The market for what ther* is on hand is vary quiet, without any regular rates of prices. The supply of the old product is growing ••smaller by degrees, aad beautifully loro.” and bat little new being thrown upon the market— not enough to affect it either for good otovH.
