The delegation from Indiana came instructed to urge tbe Convention to an immediate effort for missionary operations. Representation was made that tbe Northwett Conference inteuded to hold a miss meeting at ChLar;o, io October, when they will proceed to raise $1UU,000 for educational and missionary purpotes. SuRKVEroar, Sept. 13 Tbe Provost Marshal of Freedmen arrested the Judge, Sheriff, District Attorney aud jury of the Teuth Judicial District, for trying a negro charged with larceny. The Superintendent of Freed mcu says that jurisdiction over negroes during the existing civil law belongs exclusively to bis bureau.
