We yesterday saw some bread and bUeuit Bade from flour of wheat which bad been rejected br Inspector Hatch at being badly frown, which were as light, spocgy tad sweet tt any bread we ever saw. The wheat bad been passed through BabirJon's patent Gralo Dryer. Four days ago It was rejected wheat, worth $1 2j per bcihel; yesterday it pa.sed as Ko. 1 white, worth $1 TSatltiit Tbe apparatus whieb has effected such a change is worthy a brief description,1 evpecially as it i a Detrett invention, put m operation for tbe rst time only a few days since. Tbe dryer iuelf is enclosed Ia brick walls, and is thirty feet in height by twenty feet in length and sit in width. It conaints of five floors, each eonatining 123 square feet, and but four spart. Abote tbe upper floor of the dryer is a bin to which the wheat it raided by means of an elevator. It is letdown by valves from this bin to the upper floor of the dryer, wbere, by means of machinery, it u mid of tn even depth f fire itchef by eren dd botudi parsing over if, ea farmers are accaitomed to par tn evener oser the half bushel when tneaiuring wheat. From this floor it ii let down to one beneath it. An idea of thee floors can be bfct conveyed by an ordinary window shutter Isid horizontilly. They are made of slats, which, when rolled, drop the whwt down upon the tlyor beneath it, which is rolled in like manner, pacing the wheat down through the whole five Hoor. The floors are easily rolled1 by means of levers, which one man cau control with his hand When the floor ia rolled, paa&iog tbe wheat to the one beneath, it epmd it io perfect evenness and depth on the whole floor. These floors, except tbe upper one, are of sheet iron, and perforated like t sieve; yet the boles are not sufSdently large to allow the kernels , of wheat to pass through. When the wheat hak been rolled through all the floors, stopping from three to five minutes on each floor, ft reaches a shelving floor, by which it passes through automatic floors to a bin beneath, where it is carried by elevators to a cooler" The 'drying pfoces Is going ou'wbTTe the grt.in is pas ling through tbea 4 several chambers from one tioor to another. Hot air furnaces, fed by fans, force hot air throngh tbt pipes at each end of tbe dryer. These pipes, are in .the center of the chimney, closed at the top, thus forming a bat air chamber, fe l through an aperture at the bottom with air from out of doors. Opening into thin bot-air chamber is a scries of pipes passing entirely around the dryer, these pipes forming the sides of each chamber. They are very hot, and convey tho beat by which the grain Is dried. The steam from the drying I'raiu passes intotlues opening into each chamber. There is at the same time a strong current of fresh air forced up through the wheat, by a fan at a pressure of one and one half to the square iucb. Thu current of air prevents the wheat ficorihmg or becoming too hot; it also prevents any malty effect, which has heretofore been unmihUkable in ull wheat dried by machinery. After being subjected to the drying operation, the wheat is elevated to aa upper bin to be cooled. The cooler consists of a fquare tube, two feet iu width, with woodeu aides and a floor ef sheet iron, perforated in a manner similar to the floors of the dryer. It descends at a gentle angle, in thspc like a winding staircase. Bo neath the sheet iron floor m h wooden tube through which a strong current of air is forced by a powerful fan. As this tube is closed at the top, the cold air i forced through, the perforated floor and through the wheat, thus cooling it a.4 it gradually descend?, anl at the same time ilenUiuiE it from impurities. The grain falls into a bin at the bottom of tho cooler, whence it U elevated into other bin.- for storage. It comes out clean, cool, and in a good condition for shipment or mauufartute. This apparatus was invented by John Babiliou of thi city, and the patents which cover it hear date of Mirch 3d, Itftl, and September 13, lt6-I. That which we have desc-ribtd is owned by BabilÜon, Ninchmau & Co , and is situated on the corner of Woodbridee and Way ne streets. It u capable of cooling !0() bushtla per hour, but, of course, tbe apparatus could be built to cool 10.bushels per hour, it nc-cessiry. The machinery is driven by a 'M hore power engine. We htve already stated the result of the ex

periment, of pasiing Auuy und. grown wheat thftT.ih this dryer. ,T'o wheat was rejected when it wert in it came out "So. 1, apparently as fair and nice wheat as need be. An experiment showed th.it it tn-.kca as good bread and biscuit us any wheat of the same grade. All that ia necessary has been accomplished, provided that the same result always follows, and we se uo reason why it should m.t. There ia generally believed to te an immense amount of wheat in the Stute dauisged by beii:g crown. If the pro ccsswehtve described can make it good sgalu, the value of thin procesi cannot bo estimated. A CARD TO THE LADIES. DR. DUPONCO'S (iOLUHN PERIODICAL IM LI S. im FEJfALJCS. At tbe American Dispensary we treat by a new method, and with the happiest results, Prolapsus Cteri, (falling of the womb.) Eruptions of the Skin, Chlorosis, or Green Sicknecs characteriied by yellowish, dirty green pallor of the surface; Etnanslo Messium, or absent Menstruation; Amenorrhea, or Retention of the Menses; Dysmenorrhea, a painful and diClcult flow uf the Meru-e.-; Menorrhagia, or profu.se Menstruation; Leuchorrhea, or excessne and altered secretion of the mucus generally white, or nearly cel,res and transparent. Header, 1 have given you a class of disease that are met with in Females of all ages, helher married or unmarried; and to married Females would 6ay that there are nany othf rierms of diseases peculiar to your Fex diseases of I"regnancy, Tartantien, and Lactation, of which space will not admit an elucidation. I emit it for the council chamber, adding but one more disease to this list, and that is a formidable oue Ulcerr lion of the body of the Cterus. If you are afflicted with organic weakness, or any assemblage tf morbid phenomena of thi character, you have no time to spare, I at at once apply for ru-d cal atd. If too late to arrest tte disease, it is ot lesst possible to palliate the symptoms, and thus smooth the pathway to an uutime.'y grave. In a majority vt instances these disea.-e.-s have made considerable progress before tae patient becomes alarmed. In some cases a emaciation is tt first iudicaMor that attracts the attention of the patient's friends.
