OF THE

NINETEENTH CENTURY ! ! !

5o can'i cama It mora lnt!mtts!y connected with the hiitery of MATERIA. MEDIC A of th United States, or more favorably known as a pioneer In Medical Discovery than that of

Dr. .John null, of Louisville, ftenttielav.

ill inimitable pyparatlon of A11SAPAK1L. IaA. has long stood at tbe bead of tbe various eonapounds ofthat valuable drag.

Hi? Compound of WILD CHERRY haa become a household word throughout the West aud South. His Worm LozenKCi, iu lena than a year alter their iutruduotion, attained a reputation

A wide spread as th continent of North America. Rat the crowning glory of his life remains to be attained in his discovery, or rather combination, for he does not claim to have been the discoverer of CF. DICO.'M, which Is the basis of the Bitters now offered to the public. That honor belongs to the native inhabitants of Central America, to whom its virtues have been known for more than two hundred years. Armed with it, the Indian bids defiance to th most deadly malaria and handle without fetr the mot venonioa serpents. Iti a belief w ith them, that whiie there is breath in tbe body the Cedron is potent to cure, no matter what the ies' may be. While Dr. Bull is not prepared toendoree this etravgant pretension, he is nevertheless satisfied from a thorough examination of th evidence relating to its virtiies, that as a remedy and preventative of all disease aribing from expofcnre, either to change of weather or climate, or to miasmatic Influences, it stands

WITHOUT A RIVAL!

And Justly deserve the reputation it has so long enjoyed In Central America and the West Indie.

ITS DYHPKPSIA

And Its attendant train of symptoms. It acts more LIKE A CHARM than a medicine. Tbere is nothing in the whole rang of Materia Medica that can for a moment bear a comparison with it In this disease. A full account of this wonderful plant may be found In th 11th edition of the TJ. S. Dispensatory, pagea 13S7 and 1383. A series of experiments Iu which Dr. Boll has been for years eBgaged. haa Just been brought to a successful termination, and be is now enabled to offer to tb public a combination of CKDRON with other approved tonics the whole preserved in the best quality of copper distilled Bourbon WhUky, which he is confident has n equal in the world. He might furnish a volume of certificates, bor ab lie hav long since learned to estimate sucht...j their true value. The safest plau U for every one te te for himself the virtues of a new medicine.

MANHOOD! How Destroyed, How Restored, Dr. i. . IKIV DEItV, Physician -and Surgeon, No. 24 1-2 E. Washington St. IK CONNECTION WITH TUE GENERAL PRACTICE of Medicine, I treat by a new and reliable medium, and wita the happiest results, all form of diseases of the Nervous, Seminal and Urinary and Sexual systems. Young men with hollow cheeks and pallid countenance, telling in fearful langnage the 6ilent working of some formidable disease undermining yonrcontitution, memory and reason, harrying you to a premature death, reflect while reason holds sway and avail yourself of a treatment that di.ipates the slightest disease, and cures the harrascinjj weakness and other causes of Seriem difficulty and perpetual annoyance. Spermatorrhoea, Seminal Weakness, Nocturnal Eruiasiens, St xual Debility, Impotency, Efiects of Self-Abtiae, and their results Inability to Consummate the Marriage Contract, Mental and Physical Prostration, Fpllopy, Insanity and Consumption. "The foe, Like a staunch murderer, steaay to his purpose. Presses him close through every lane of life, Nor misses once the track, but presses on, Till forced at last to the tremendous verge, And at once he sinks." Likewise, I will guarantee a radical euro of Syphilis, Gonorrhoea and G'.eet, In all their stages, entirely removing from the blood the last spark of these terrible diseases that gradually burn up the fountain of life. Diseases and Conditions Peculiar to Females. The beauty and extreme delicacy of the female organization, to t.ay nothing of its physiological characteritics, art saSicient Indications that it is sub ect to forms of disease and modifications peculiar to itself. The physician cf the present day docs not encounter any more forms of uterine diseases than did the physician f fifty years ago; but owing to the present social condition of woman, her diseases are increased to frequency, and to the truth of thin aertion the melancholy deatls by consumption bear ae vie witness. At the Americ-'i Iipen.ary we treat by a new method, and v '1 the happiest results. S

MPTOMS:

The symptoms of Catarrh, as they generally appear.

are at Cm very slight. Persons find they have a cold, that tbey have frequent attacks, and are more sensitive to tbe changes of temperature. In this condition, th nose may be dry, or a slight discharge, th!a and acrid, afterwards becoming thick and adhesive. As the disease becomes chronic, the discharges are Increased in quantity and changed In quality; they are now thick arid heavy, and are hawked or coughed off. The secretions art offensive, causing a bad breath: the voice is thick and nasal; the eyes are weak; the sense cf the smell is lessened or destroyed; deafness frequently takes place. Another common and important symptom of Catarrh is, that the person is obliged to clear his throat in the morning of a thick or slimy mucus, which has fallen down from the head during the night. When this takes place the person may be sure that his disease ia on its way to the nngs, and should lose do time ia arresting it. The above are but few of the many Citarrh symptoms. A Single Dottle will lnt a Honth--to be used three times u day. TESTIMONIAL From Hon. Thomas J. Turner, Ex-Member of Congress rom Ulinios, lata Speaker of the Ulinoia House of Representatives and Grand Master of A. F., and A. M., of the State of Illinois. FaxxroaT, October 21, 1863. Da. D. n. St-rLTX Dear Sir In reply to your notice of tbe leth in.L, I would say that I was severely aClicted with Catarrh for years, when I became acquaiated with you and bought two bottles of your liquid Catarrh Remedy. Before I had used one bottle I was sensibly improved, and before the second bottle was finished, was completely cured. lean recommend the medicine to all afflicted with Catarrh. Respectfully yours, TH01IAS J. 1CKNER.
