An soona tbe prayers of the church were concluded, the Emfrror ascended the stairs of the catafalque and ied his son's forehead and hand. There was t paae of a few secor;d. The Emptes, pale aa ahes , and evidently scarcely able to overeooe her agonizin grief, ro.e, and following the Emperor, stood zziaz at her de.d child, kissing bira piiiosateiy, and took ber ltt farewell of Liai, the Emperor at last leadirg Ler back to her chair. The three young GraLd Dakca followed successively, the child Grand Dache! Marie beir g tbe last of the family to imprint a kia of affection on the ininirnate forehead of the young and much loved heirapparett of the Rn?.ian empire. Independent of the romantic intcjeat circumstances have thrown around hii early doom, LU death U a subject of legitimate regret tr all iho wish for the prumulgitioa of liberal priLcipIe and the extension of civil liberty. On this point the young Grand Duke differed o widely from his ftther's advisers that his journey through rurope, nd therefore temporary absence from St. Petersburg wan decided on, aa-obviuing unpleasant discujaion!4 on the regulation of Polish affair?. The yourg prince wit idolized in Lis own family, and ao generally beloved that all Russian in Paris have gone into deep mourning for him. Yesterday I met a Russian Udy of rank at a houe where I happened to pay a visit. She explained the vioiet hue of her dress by st.uicg that as the object of her visit was to ofier ber congratulations on the frte day of the ladj of the bouse, she had put off her mourning in compliment to her. The Alexandre Xewky, on board which arc the (Jratd Duke's remains, will take one month to reach St. Petersburg, by which time the Imperial family will have arrived. In

the ilonitcur of this morning i published a letter from the Uursiam Arbas?ir, M.de Uudbcrc, expressing the grititude of his un'.er for the ttention and sympathy shown to Lira by the l'rcfcctan.l ftu'boritit- of Nice; and a. fecund letter, written by the first aide do-camp, cxrreasir.g to the Prefect the Emperor's wish to take leave personal! of him t hilf pr.t eleven n the monibg of his dep.trture ftotn Nice. General lld'.Ier was not aware when he onde this threat that the re lations of Mr. Heuucit, the responsible editor of the Herald, with the Administration, were of a very friendly and conßdeut'ul character, and, therefore, in making his "brief authority," he "put his fiot in it." Mr. P.er.nett, of course, never forgave Jiim, but, on the contrary, managed to have him removes! just soon as the

The offer of the French Mission by our late President to James Gordon Ilennett, and the endorsement of the offer bv Horace Greeley, mut hare opened Gen. Sutler's eyes. He will probably let newspapers alone hereafter New York Ledger. The Washington correspondent of the New York Daily News gives the following item In reference to Ihvith's remains: "l?y way of illustration, I fpoke of the disfigurement of Booth's lifelesi remains as rumor told the tale. For the honor of the country, I am glad to say, there is no truth in the shocking tale. Pocth's body was buried without disfigurement. It was burled in secret und in the night, and no st jne marks, or ever will mark the f pot. but this was the choice of his family. The body was given to them. They had it carried away to the North away beyond New York, anl there interred, and there to remain unlit the last day, when the quick and the !eaJ ate to be judged." Hlavt Dmagh The Milwaukee Sentinel avt that Miss Imhoffhas obtained a verdict of $10,0(H) damages against the Chicago und Milwaukee lUüroad Company for the loss of a leg, occasioned by the pudden backing of a train while she was pa.-.-ing from a car to the platform, which caused her to fall upon the track in such a manner that her left leg and right foot were crushed by the wheels ol the passing cars. sHZDICAL. MA1HOOD! IIow Destroyed, IIow Hotond. :r. 4. S. PEIVIIEIIY, Physician and Surgeon, No. 24 1-2 E. Washington St. IS CONNECTION WITH THE GENERAL PRACTICE of Medicine, I treat by a new and reliable medium, and will tbe happiest results, all form ofdisea.se of tbe Nervous, Seminal aod Urinary and Sexual systems. Toung men with hollow cheeks and pallid countenance, telling in fearful language tbe silent working of some formidable disease undermining yourconstitution, memory and reason, harrying you to a premature death, reflect while reason holds sway and avail yourself of a treatment that dissipates tbe .lightest disease, and cures the harrassing weakness and other causes of erious difficulty and perpetual annoyance. Spermatorrhea, Seminal Weaknes, Noeturnal Eciis sions, Seiual Debility, Ira potency, E2ect of Self-Abuse, and their results Inability to Consummate the Marriage Contract, Mental and Physical Prostration, F.pilepsj, Inanity and Consumption. "The foe. Like a staunch murderer, steaay to his pnrpoee. Presses him cle through every lane of life, Nor misses once the track, but presses on, Till forced at last to the tremendous verge, And at once he sinks." Likew'se, I will guarantee a radical cure of Syphilis, Gonoirhcra and Gleet, in all their stages, entirely removing from the blood the last spark of these terrible diseases that gradually burn up the fountain of life. Diseases and Conditions Peculiar to Females. The beauty and extreme delicacy of the female organization, to ay nothing of its pbytiological characteristics, are sufficient indications that it is sub'ect to forms of disease and modifications peculiar to itself. Tbe physician of the present day does not encounter any more forms of uterine diseases than did the physician ef fifty years ago; but owiag to the present social condition of woman, her diseases are increased to frequency, and to the truth cf this assertion the melancholy deatbsby consumption bear ample witness. At the American Dispensary we treat by a new method, and with the happiest renlts. Prolapsus Uteri, (falling of the womb.) Eruptions of the Saia, Chloroi-is, or Green Sickness characterised ty yellowish, dirty green pallor of the rerface; Emansio Messlum, or absent Menstruation; Amenorrhea, or Retention of the Menkes; Dysmenorrhea, a painful and difficult flow ut tbe Mense?; Menorrhagia, or profuse Menstruation; Leuchorrhea, or excessive and altered secretion of the mucus generally white, or nearly colore! and transparent. Reader, I have given you a class of diseases that are met with in Femaies of all ages, whether married or unmarried; and to married Females would say that there are many otbf r forms of diseases peculiar to your sex diseases of Pregnancy, Partaritien, and Lactation, cf which space will net admit an elucidation. I omit it for tbe council chamber, adding bat ene more disease to this list, and that is a formidable one Ulceration of the body of the Uterus. If you are affi cted with organic weakness, or any assemblai of morbid phenomena cf this character, you have no time to spare, but at once apply for md cal ad. If too late to arrest the disease, it is at least possible to palliate the syrrpton., at.d ihn mothe the pathway to an untimely grare. la a majority of instances these diseases have made considerable progress before the patient becomes alarmed. In some cases an emaciation is the Crst indicatior that attracts the attention of the patient's friends. An4 here, reader, let me call your earnest attention to the fearful ignif.caace of tbe word "wasting." It not only constitutes the leading feature, but the earliest and m-t om'.noc srmptof s sf Consumption, examples of which are Invariably met with in your r lad.es ho are gifted with high intellectual endowment, refined eccomp'isbn;er.t. and eyes f.ah;i.g w.th uncataral brilliancy not rard;: g these hidicatieni as being those of irxHpieut dieae, bnt those of personal charms.
