Should Colorado not succeed in getting the Pacific Railroad through the entire extent ot the territory, east to west, the Governor urges that the energies ot the territory be brought to bear in the co operation with branches from Kanaas City and Atchion.for their extension through a part of tht territory. The meeting was composed mainly of working men. who fear they will be paid in greenbacks should the repeal take place. Liunter U to take command of the Army of the Potomac. On the trains yesterday and the day before there were a large number of deserters en route to Washington, where they will take the oath of allegiance Twenty nine deserters from Virginia, Alabama and Mississippi regiments came into Gen. Gregg's lines two days ago, some of whom been thirty days and others two weeks and Ics in the mountains. They report the mountains full of de serters striving to reach our lines. The IIoue refused to adjourn till Monday, and proceeded to vote on Holmes' motion to table the resolution amendatory of the con5eation act, which w .is disagreed to 77 to fcO. Several motions were made and voted on by yeas and nays to delay time, when an accommodation was arrived nt concerning the action on the joint resolution, namely, that Messrs. Blair, of Missouri, Smith, of Kentucky, and Pruyn shall speak, then a vote shall be t iKen. Mr. Blair opposed the 'ending motion, faying it made an i?sue betw een ihe President and those who. as a party, supported him. Mr. Smith of Kentucky favored the confiscation of all rebel property. We should whip this hellish rebellion down. Mr. Pruyn ot New York made a speech against secession, but claimed the privilege of insisting that the Administration should act in obedience to the Constitution. ' The tesolution passed: ayes, c2; noes. 74. The joint resolution as passed amends that of July, lf"G"2, m iking it read that no punishment or proceeding under it shall be so construed as to work forfeiture of estate of otfender, contrary to the Federal Constitution; provided that no other public warning or proclamation shall be required than that ib de by the President on the Slst of July, '62, which shall be received and held sufficient in all case now pending and that may bereifter arise under said act.
