It la a great excellence of the compilation that all existing idatute on each ubjei't are collected tgether In the tame place In theae volume.; o that tt reader cau ee at a glance all the legislation Ir force n any given mbject. Take, for example, the act of 1152, organizing Court of Common I'lea the editor publish the act at large, and they alo print, in the form of note on the same page containing til statute, all the acts amendatory to it which hare been passed up to this time. And o they have done of all the other act contained iu the revision of 1H52. The editor have added much to the value of thee Tolume especially the last by the copiou and learned note with hl h the volumes abound. Tbe; note indicate much Iabr and legal acumen. They furnish us, in a cotici.se and accurate form, with all the adjudication of our Supreme Court on th statute. These adjudications being now very numerous, the reference to them In the volumes under co nsideration, will be of great value to the lawyer, and indeed to all teraon concerned in the administration of Justice. The editor have alo refetreJ, iu their notes, to numerou decisions in other States, made on statutes similar to ours. An excellence of these volumes, not to be overlooked a the full and accurate index appended to each. In Indiana, there never haa bceu a good Index to any volume of statutes published by authority. ThN provoking defect has been completely remedied in the volumes under review; and these Indexes will greatly lighten the labor of all who have occasion to look into our statute.. This Is the first time that private enterprize has attempted the publication of Indiana statutes. The attempt, I do not doubt, will be successful, and will duly reward the learned editors and enterprising publisheis Every lawyer will, of course, purchase these volumes; and every clerk, sheriff", and Justice of the peace of the State, will find it to bis advantage to own them.
