Alfred Chandler refused to go on a ceitain unple isant dutv, becau-e he believed that the Orderlv Scree int did not tieat him with impattiatity. One thing is ceitain if L!eut Ohr hail not procured the billet of wood and the rope to buck Allred Chandler, ami had not laid hands on him himself, tin hist error would never have been connnit'ed. It is not a commissioned offi ccr's p'ace to do such brutal work; the punish ment should bo inflicted bv the guard, and by nobody ele.
