Quarters, fuel and medical attendance are always provided by the Government without deduction lrom the soldier's pay. If a soldier should become disabled in the line of his duties, the law provides for him a pension, or he may, if he prefer it, obt liu admission into the Military Asylum, whMi will afford him a comfortable home so longRs he may wish to receive its benefits. To the alKjve pay for private soldiers must be added the additioaal $2 a month to be paid during service, the $100 bounty at the end of the war, which has already been provided for, and the (juarter section of land that Congress will provide for at its coming session. The bounty and land apply to officers and privates alike.
