Ayer's öarsaparilla
A comjKjutnl remedy, lesinel to he the most fllectiinl Alltrutine that can he made. It is a concentrated extract of l'ara Sarsaparilla, o cotnhineil with other snbstances ol" .tili rrcater altnative jxtwer u.-t to alÜntl an etVntive antidote for the diseases S irsaparilla 'm i emitted to cure. It i.-i believed that htuh a remedy ij wanted by those who flitter from Strumous complaints, und that one which will accomplish their cure must prove of immense service to this larjrc class of our afflicted fellow citizens. How completely this compound will do it has been proven by experiment on many of the worst ca.-es to be found ol the following complaint.-: Scrofula and Sciioki'Lous Complaints, EritTIONS AMI Kill PTIVt DlSKASKS, Ul-CKUS, I'jMPLKS, Hlotchjs, Timors, Salt Kiim m, Scald Htai, Syphilis and Svpiiulitic Akhxtions, MmriKiAL Disi:.sK. DuorsT, Nliraluia or TicDoi'LOl RKAI X, DfcBII ITY, Dvsi'U'SIA AND InDIsirtoN, EitTiPLK.s, Kosk or St. Anthony's Fjke, and indeed the whole class of complaints arising from Impurity ok thk Ulood. This compound w ill be found a great promoter of health, when taken in the spring, to expel the foul humors w hich fester in the blood at that season of the year. By the timely expulsion of them many rankling disorder are nipped in the bud. Multitudes! can, by the aid of the remedy, spare themselves from the endurance of foul eruptions and ulcerous sores, through which the system w ill ftrive to rid itself of corruptions, if not assisted to do this through the natural channels of the Innly by an alterative medicine. Cleanse out the vitiated blood whenever you find its impurities bursting through the skin in pimples, eruptions, or stil es; cleanse it when you find it is obstructed ani sluggish in the veins; cleanse it whenever it is foul, and your feelings will tell you when. Even w'ere no particular disorder is felt, people enjoy better health, and live longer, for cleansing the blood. Keep the blood healthy, and all is we'l; but with this pabulum of life disordered, there can be no lasting health. Sootier or later something mud go wrong, and the great machinery of life is disordered or overthrown. Satsaparilla has. and dt serves, much the reputation of accomplishing these ends. Hut the world has been egregiously deceived by preparations of it, partly because the drug alone has not all the virtue that is claimed for it, but more because many preparations, pretending to be concentrated extracts of it, contain but little of the virtue of Sarsaparilla. or anything else. lhiring late "tears the public have been misled by large bottles, pretending to give a ijuart of Extract of Sarsaparilla for one dollar. Most of these have been frauds upon the sick, for they not only contain little, if any, Sarsaparilla, but often no curative properties whatever. Hence, bitter and painful disappointment has followed the Use of the various extracts of Sarsaparilla which tiood the market, until the name itself is justly despised, and h is become synonymous with imposition and cheat. Still we call this compound Sarsaparilla, and intend to supply such a remedy as shall rescue the name trout the load ol obloquy which tets upon it. And we think we have ground for believing it has virtues which are irresistible by the ordinary run of the diseases it is intended to cure. In order to secure their complete eradication fnm the system, the remedy ehould be judiciou! v taken accrdiiig to directions on the

Volume 1 , Iublished by ii i m; 1 1 a: n A: iioi idiTV, isniAsarous. JimIrc David IcDnnald, one of themort eminent lawyers of the State, volunteered the follow ineconunendatiou of the work: Statctes or Indiana, at Gavis A Hohp. Some months ajjo, the above named gentlemen issued proposals for publishing, in two volumes octavo of some .0(l pages each, al the statutes of the State passed since lol, w ith annotations. The first volume of the work is now published; and the manner of its execution, both mechanically and editorially, deserves the thanks of the profession. The imperfect manner of publishing our statutes under State authority, ha- always been a source of great inconvenience to the Indiana lawyer. The revision of ls5jf ac well as the statutes pa-sol since that year, might almost aswillhave beeii published without any index. Up tc tbiftime the lawyer has con-tartly been under the necessity of turning over, leaf by leaf, the volumes o our statutes to find any particular enactment. And every one know show annoying and provoking this Is, especially in the hurry of business as in our Court. Happily for the profession, the publication under consideration promises a better state of thii'us In the futnre. The first volume o j;e.srs. Gavin A Hord's work contains an excellent and copious index, which to every practicing lawyer In thr täte is itself worth the money which the volume costs. The volume under review contains anuther excellence Mlits pages are suppliedwith valuable marginal indice, otli.it a ulance al the margin is suillcient to apprise the eader of the contents of the page. Another matter of great importance to the lawyer in this volume is a tod collection of the subjects of all leg
islation since l-.'l. 11 retofore, th lawyer in examining '
our legislation on any given subject bad first to rind what was relevant to it in the Revision of 1C2, and then to turn ovit the pages of the i lames of subsequent Statutes, to see how far recent legislation may have repealed or nidi fied the provisions contained in that Revision, and even then he would often fet I doubt whether he had found all the IrzisUtit n on the subject of his in.iuirv. Messrs. Ga
vin and M-rd have relieved us of all this trouMe and f
doubt. They have col'ected together in consecutive paes
ail the statute-ma le s.nce ls..I. on the same snnject. Thus, on pates JTJ to 377 of their Mr-l volume they have et lit cted all our legislativ?:, now in force, on the subject o husband and wife, including the ait of W2 anJ three actof lv7. And they have followed the same mode o cooc.vion, in appropriate consecutive pages, In regard to al) other topic of legislation A still more valuable feature are the copious and accurate notes contained in the volume In qu-stion. This volume includes tl.e Constitution of the United States, the. Constitution of ludi.via, aid several important acts ot Virginia and statute- i f Congress, and a large jx-rti-in o our owti sta'ute. now in f rce. The nuna-rous decision o the Courts on the various provision-contained in thee (!..nstis tuti-.n and statute- are found at the bottom of the appropriate pages, in the form of neat, brief and accurate t, iteand it f-rei.ces. Mevs. Gav in A H-'rd seem to have ter formed tli- part of th. ir work exceedingly well. It must have cost tlo-ru much care and labor. By it they have greatly lessened th labor of the practising lawyer, an 1 have well uier.U-d his grateful a; proval.
