Ayer's barsaparilla A comunl remedy, deined to be the most (.'fleet ua I AUerulire that can be DiaJe. It is a conc-t-ntrute! extract of 1'ara Sarajutriila, o curnbined with other substances of still rrt.;lter alterative jnwer a to alloiil an etlectire antiJute for the ilisearies Sarsnparilla i leputcl to cure. It i believed that huch a remedy i wanted by thoe who fuller Irorn Strumous! conipilaints. and that one which will accomplish their cure must prove of immense service to this larre class of our atHicted lellow citizens. How completely this compound will do it ha been proven by experiment on many of the worst cases to be found of the following complaints: ScitorcLA and ScRoriLocs Complaints, Ekiptions axd ertptive diseases. ulcers, tlmplks, Hlotch es, Timors, Salt Kiieim. Scalp Head, Syphilis and Sypihilitic Afee?tios, Mercurial Disease. Duopht, Neiraloia or TicDoiLoiREAt x, Debility, Dtspeisia and IndiLSTI0N, ERYfilPLEAS, liOSE OR St. ANTHONY Fire, and indeed the whole clnsa of complaints ari.-ing from Implritt of the Blood. This compound will be found a great promoter of health, w hen taken in the spring, to expel the foul humors w hich tester in the blood at that season of the year. By the timely expulsion of them many rankling disorders are nipped in the bud. Multitudes can, by the aid of the remely, ppure themselves from the endurance of foul eruptions and ulcerous ore, through which the system will strive to rid itself of corruptions, if not assisted to do this through the natural channels of the ImmIv by an alterative medicine. Cleane out t ie vitiated blood whenever you fiml its impurities bursting through the ekin in pimples, eruptions, or sores; cleanse it when you find it is obstructed and sluggish in the veins; cleanse it whenever it is foul, and your feelings will tell you when. Even wfere no particular disorder is felt, jeople enjoy better health, and live longer, for cleansing the blood. Keep the blood healthy, and all is well; but with this pabulum of lite disordered, there can be no lasting health. Sooner or later something must go wrong, and the great machinery of life is disordered or overthrown. Sarsapariila has. and deserves, much the reputation of accomplishing these ends. But the world has been egreiously deceived by preparations of it, partly because the drug nlone has not all the virtue that is claimed for it, but more because many preparations, preteruling to be concentrated extracts of it, contain but little of the virtue of Sarsaparilla, or anything else. During late vears the public have been misled by lar;e bottles, pretending to give a tjuart of Extract of Sarsaparilla for one dollar. Most of these have been frauds upon the sick, for they not only contain little, if any, Sarsaparilla, but often no curative properties whatever. Hence, bitter and painful disappointment has followed the use of the various extracts of Sarsaparilla which fiood the market, until the name itself is justly lespised. and has become synonymous with imposition anl cheat. Still we call this compound Sarsaparilla, and intend to supply such a remedy as shall rescue the name from the load ot obloquy which rests ujmhi it. And we think we have ground for believing it hs virtues which are irreitib!e bv the ordinary run ot the diseases it is intended to cure. In order t secure their complete eradication from the system, the remedy should le judiciously taken according to directions on the battle. I'CEPARED BT IU. .1. V. AYER iV CO. LOW1CLL, 3TVSJS. Volume 1, Published by iii.n;iia?i Ac ion;iiTY, ISDUKArOUA. Jnclpe David .TIcDonnld one of themoxt eminent lawyers cf the State, volunteered the follow in,, ecommeudatiun of the w ork: STaTTTra or Indiana, t Oaviü A Hori. Some month, ago, the above named gentlemen issued proposals for publishing, in tw o vlunu's octavo of home s0 pages each, al the statute of the State passed since 1-HöT, with annotations. The tirst vt.lume ot the wirk . now published ; and the manner of it execution, both mechanically and editorially, des-rvvn the thanks of the profi-.viou. The imperfect manner of publishing our tatutes undel State authority, ha always been a source of great Inconvenience to the Indiana Lawyer. The revision of 1S.VJ, as well as the tatutes passed ince that year, might almost atwrll have lecn pullish?d without "any index. L'p tc thihtime the lawyer ha. constantly been unlr the neceaity of turning over, leaf by leif. the volumes o our tatute to find any particular enactment. And every one know show annoying and provoking this is, esjecia"!ly In the hurry of business as in our LVurts. Happily for the profession, the publication under consideration promises a better state f thitujs in the future. The first volume o ilesrs. tiaviu & llonl's work contains an excellent and copious index, which to every practicing law r in the täte is itself worth the money which the volume cost. The volume under r'view contains another excellence Ml its page are supplied with valuable marginal indices, othat a giitt.ee at the margin is sufiicient to apprise the eaderuf the c ritent. of the page. Another matt r of great importance to the lawyer in this volume is a good collection of the subject of all legislation since 101. Heretofore, the law yer In examining our legislation -n any given subject had first to find what was relevant to it in the Revision f 12, and then to turn over the paite.s of the volumes of subsequent Statute, t see how far n-cent legislation may have repealed or mJd"fied the provisions contained in that Revision, and even then he would often fee! doubt whether he had found ail the legisUtiin n the subject f his inquiry. Messrs. Gavin and Hord have relieved us of alt this trouble and doubt. They have collected together in consecutive pnt all the statutes made since . on the same subject. Thus, on paces 373 to 377 of their tirst volume they have collected all our legislation, now i:s force, on the sulject o hiilanl and wife, including the act of and three act of K.7. And they hae followed the same m sie o coccation, in appropriate consecutive pages, In regard foail
Otner topics vl leislaf ion. A tili more valuable feature are the copious and accurate notes contained i:i the volume in jues::(,u. This volume include the Constitui-n of the l'nited States, th Constitution of Indiana, and ev-rsl important act ol Virginia and statutes of Cengres, r.,t 4 Urge portion o our 0 n statutes now- in force. The numerous decisions o the Courts i u the vanou j rovisj.ii, contained in th--e Constis tutions and tatntes are found at the bottom cf the appropriate paces, in the form of neat, brief an 1 accurate noteand references. Messrs. Gavin A Hon! sem to have per
formed this part of their work exceedingly well. It must have coot them much care and labor. Hy it they l ave greatly lessened the labor of the practising lawyer, and have w ell merited his grateful approval. In every respect the volume uu-ler review is highly reIifable to the dilliger.ee, accuracy, talent and the taste o Its editors, a we'd a to th mechanical skill and neatnes of its publisher-, and t must raise the Jut expectation ol the profession, a to tue value of the secnd volume, which we understand will be forthcoming in a few months, and which will contain the cle of pleading and practice o ls.".2. with subsequent airendmenf and other statute. Without airy concert w sth the editor or publishers ol the v Urne in uesUoii, the w riter of this article has been induced to Compose and publish this lit tie review of the book, oiely because he lel;ee the e.!;t..r and putlishers deserve Lfgh cotnmenlati.n fr their jwrformance. He, therefore, deem it but Just to them, without being solicited to it by any one, to publish this notice of the boo over his own pr- per name. DAVID McDONALD. Indianapolis November 1, 10.
