Our Arm Correspondence Letter from Kentucky. Camf Woon, MoroHiwiviLLE J January 2J, ) Editor StMTixiL: Time move along, but thia grand army i ptill at a stand. We are yet on the batA of Green River, and in the mud up to our eyes. The river has been on another "high," but U beginning to sober off. Cheerful ne reigns supreme among the soldier. Every one U on the tip-toe in anticipation of an encounter with the much talked of Buckner and hi. confederate. On Tueiday night about 8 o'clock a few rebels came up to Row let' Station, set fire to the de;ot and storehouse, and then "vamosed." All thi vii done within sight of our picket and within two miles of camp. Pretty told work! Maraud ing parlies are constantly scouring the country between this and Bowling Green. The bold and fearless Major of the 6th Indiana is anxiou to gei after them with a eharp etick, but Gen. McCook will not permit any scouting. On last Friday our pickets came rushing in, announcing that a large rebel force was advancing. Gen. McCook immediately sent out several regiments to their relief. Although the mud w a3 very deep, they went on double quick. Captain Stone' battery was ready to open out at the first sight of the enemy. Hut it was soon discovered to be a false alarm. The corresjondent takes umbrage at the fact that a charge is made lor the uniform, and considers it a gross wrong that the men hoiild be required to pay for it. The editor, who is the Hon.
