Ayer's Sarsaparilla A compound remedy, ilesinctl to to the most Cll'extual AUrrntirt th.it can lie made. It id a concentrated extr.ict ot" Y:va ö.irsaparüla, so combined with other subsUiu-os of itill greater alterative power a to afford an effective antidote for the tiisease Sarsaparilla i teputcl to cure. It is believed th:U uch a remedy a wanted by those whoeuircr 1mm Strumou cuiiilaiiiU, and that one tvhicli will umunplish their cure muüt jirove of immense siervice to thi.s l.ir:ecl.u of our alllK-tcl fellow citizens. How completely this conijouiid will do it has been proven by experiment on many of the worst cases to be found of the following complaint: Scrofula ami Siuoji lols Complaints, EourTIOXM AM KrL'I'TITE DlStASI.S, ULCLBS, TlMPLtS, ItuiTCHF.TfMOK.s, Salt Khli m. Scalp IIfai, Syphilis amj Sypihilitic Afflctions, Mutet ft I A L DlSEASK. DllOlMY, Xrt'RALtilA OR TlCDofLtiuREAtx, Dehility, Dysfkpsia and Imigkstion, Khyfifleas, Kom: or St. Anthonys Fire, and indeed tlie whole das' of complaints Hti.in from Impuuity of the Hlooh. This compound w ill be found a preat promoter of health, when taken in the spring, to expel the fuul humors which fester in the blood at that season of the year. Ily the timely expulsion of them many rankling disorders are nipped in the bud. Multitudes can, by the aid of the remedy, spare themselves from the endurance of foul eruptions and ulcerous sores, through which the system w ill strive to rid it.-elf of corruptions, if not assisted to do this through the natural channels of the body by an alterative medicine. Cleanse out the vitiated blood whenever you find its impurities bursting through the ekin in pimples, eruptions, or sores; cleanse it when you find it is obstructed and slurgi.h in the veins: cleanse it whenever it is foul, and your feelings will tell you when. Even where no particular disorder is felt, eople 'enjoy better health, and live longer, for cleansing the blood. Keep the blood healthy, and all is we'l; but with this pabulum of life disordered, there can be no lasting health. Sooner or later something must go wrong, and the great machinery of life is disordered or overthrown. Sarsaparilla has, and deserves, much the reputation of accomplishing these ends. But the world has been egregiously deceive! by preparations ot it, partly because the drug alone bus not all the virtue that is claimed for it, but more because many preparations, pretending to be concentrated extracts of it, contain but little of the virtue of Sarsajuirilla, or anything else. During late vcurs the public luve been misled by large bottles, pretending to give a quart of Kx tract of Sarsaparilla for one dollar. Most of these have been frauds upon the sick, for they not only contiin little, if any, Sars.tarilla, but often no curative properties whatever. Hence, bitter and painful disappointment has followed the use of the various extracts of Sar.-aparilla w hich flood the market, until the name itselj is justly despised, and has become synonymous with imposition arid cheat. Still we call this compound Sarsijiarilla, and intend to supply such a remedy as shall rescue the name from the load of obloquy which tests upon it. And we thinl. we have ground for believing it has virtues which are irresistible by the ordinary run of the diseases it is intended to cure. In otiler to secure their complete eradication from the sysLfin, the remedy shonld bo judiciously Liken according to directions on the bottle. rarPARtP by I It. .1. C AY HR fc CO. LO AVISTA, 31 ASH. That we reaffirm and endorwc th political prinnples that from time to time have teen put forth by the National Convention of the- Democratic party. 2. That we are unalterably attached to the Constitution, by which the Union of the Su was formed and established; and that a faithful observance of its principles can alone conUace the existence of the Union, and the permanent happiness of the people. 3. That the- present civil war has mainly resulted from the long continued, n wise, and fanatical agitation, in the North, of the question of domestic slavery, the coneucrt organization of a geographical party, guided by the sectional platforms adopted at Buffalo, Pittsburgh, lhiladelphia, and Chicago, and tlie development thereby of sectional hate and jeilousv, producing (aa had long leen foreseen and predicted tv cs) its counterpart in the South of aecesaion, disunion, and armed resistance to the General Govsrcment, and terminating in a bloody strife Let ween those who should have boen forever bound together by fraternal bonds, thos bricgine upon the whole country a calamity which we are row to inert as loyal citixeus. striving for the adoption of that mode of settlement Lest calculated to again restore union and harmony. 4. That in rejecting all proposition likely to result in a satisfactory adjustment of the mauert in dispute between the North srd the South, and especially those measures which would have socured the border slave States to the Union, and a hearty co operation on their part In all constitutional and legal measures to procure a retura of the more Southern States lo their allegiance, the Republican party assumed a fearful rep.uuibility, and acted in total disregard of the Lol interests of the whole country. 5. That if tlie party in power had shown tha same desire to settle, by amicable adjustment, our internal distensions before hosti'.iue bad actually commenced, that tlie Administration has recently exhibited to avoid a war with our ancient enemy. Great Britain, we confidently be lieve that peace and harmony woulJ now reign throughout all our tordcrs. C. That the maintenance of the Union upon the jTinciple of the Federal Constitution should be the controlling object of all wlio profeas loyalty to the Government and in our judpiaent this purpose can only Ie accomplished, bj the ascendency of a Uaion party in the SouUirrn States, which shall, by a counter revolution, displace those who control and direct tlie prevent rebellion. That no e.1rt to create or sustain nutli a party can b uccrasful which is not basd t pen a definite settlement of the questions at issue between the two sections; and we therefore demand that some such settlement be made by additional constitutional guaranty, either initiated by act of Congress or through the medium of a National Convention. 7. That the Republican party has fully demon strated its inability to conduct the Government through its present difficulties. 8. That we are utterly opposed to the twin heresies. Northern sectionalism and Southern secession, a inimical to the Constitution; and that freemen, as they value the boon of civil liberty and the peace of the country, should frown indignantly upon them. 9. That iu this national emergency the Democracy of Indiana, banishing all feeJinc of pas ion and resentment, will recollect only their duty to the whole country; that thia war should not be waged in the spirit of conqnet or subjugation, nor for the purpose of overthrowing or interfering with the rights or institutions of the States, but to defend and maintain the supremacy of the Constitution, and to preserve the Union with all the dignity, erjwality and rights of the several States unimpaired; and that as soon as these objects are accomplished the war ought to cease. 10. That we will sustain, with all our enerjiet, a war for the maintenance of the Constitution, and of the integrity of the Union under Ike Co asfaf attion; but we are opposed to a war for the emancipation of the negroes, or tbe subjugulca of th Southern States. 11. That the purposes avowed and advocated by the Northern disunionists, to liberate and arm the negro slaves, is unconstitutional, insulting to loyal citizens, a dbgrace to the age. is calculated to retard the suppression of tlie i ebelllon and meets our unqualified condemnation. 12. That the total disregard of the writ of Li bras corpus by the aotboritics over us, and the seizure and imprisonment of the citizens of loyal States where the judiciary is in full operation, without warrant of law and without assigning any cause or giving to the party arrested any opportunity of defense, are flagrant violations of the Constitution and most alarming acts of usurpation of power, which should receive the stern rebuke of every lover of his country and of every man who prize the security and blcuings of life, liberty and pro pert v. 13. That lilterty of stieeeh and of the prexs are guaranteed to the people by the Constitution, and none but a usurjs?r would deprive them of these) right; they are inestimable to the citizen and formidable to tyrants only. And the attempts which havelteen made ainca our present urifortu natc troubles, to muzzle the press and stifle free discussiou, are exercises of despotic power against which freedom revolts and which own neat bo tolerated without con vertir.g freeman into slaves. 1 1. That the seizure of Slidell and Mason, on board a neutral vesssel, on tl high seas, was cither in accordance with International law, and ao legal; or else in violation of such law, and so illegal. If the former, w lament that our nation has been humiliated by their surrender, tttuttr threat I if the latter, it was the duty of the Ad tniiiiatratioij at once to have disavows! the act of their ofli'-er, and instead of i i tea rcera ting the captivew in Fort Warren, to have irnnievliatelr rav pevired tlie wrong by placing them, as far aa prac ticable, in the same condition in w htch that ofh cer had found then. In either etawit, the action of the Administration was vacillating jvnd cow ardly, and degrading to the dignity cf a great na tion. 15. That tie action of the Republican party, as manifestes) in the tut ti an character of all appointments of the Administration to civil offieo; and, in holding party caucuses by the Republican members of Congress lor the purpose of im pie ing upon the legislative action of ihattody the peculiar dogmas 6f that party, hare demonstrated that their prof essions ol "sacrificing party platforms, and party organizations , upon the slur of their country," are but so many hypocritical and false pretencos by which they hope to dupe tlie unwary luto thoir support; and we warn all loyal persons, as they love their country, not to be deceit ed thereby. 16. That the disclosure wade by the inveati g.ting committee in Congress of the cuormoui frauds that hate .talked into tlie army and nary departments, implicating the heads of tho de partmenu in a connivance at, if not an actual participation in a system of corruption, and la which our brave soldiers have been delratsdod of their proper supplier, and our Govern meot throat ened with bankruptcy, demands a thorough io vetipation into all our ein iiture, both State and National, sad that a speedy and tn irked ex smple be made of all snch "birds of prey," who, taking udvantage of the ne enitie of our t oun try, have fed and fattened tpn public plunder. Iittolrtd. That tlie merit irioui conduct of the Indiana troop), in every bsttle field where victory has perched upon the national banner, has filled the people of this State wjih the highest gratitude to her gallant n,atil thai we aeod our best wishes to officers and men, dUerod throughout the couutry . and the he-ilfett greetings of erery Democrst for their further brilliant achieve ments in the coming contests for the mairtteuanc of the Constitution and the Unin
