THIRTY PROMINENT CITIZENS MADE DEFENDANTS IN A SENSATIONAL CASE.

States court in Octoler as defendants in a suit instituted by the Kev. C. A. Nybladh, who was transient iastor of the First Lutheran Church here last fall, and was discharged because of reports alleging he was the father of a young woman's child. He escajied a trial on the charge because the cause was outlawed. He charges several of the defendants with false imprisonment and defamation of character, ami asks for twenty-live thousand dollars damages. Among the defendants are the Kev. 8. P. A. Lindahl, president of the Augustana Lutheran synod, the largest hotly in the country the Hon. G. W. Prince, a member of the state legislature the Hon. Nels Nelson, secretary of the Scandinavian mutual association, and other prominent people. Nvbladh claims that he is still an alien and resorts to the United States court because he fears that he cannot get justice here.

WOMAN'S LOYALTY.

A lady came here from Rosedale yesterday and instituted capias proceedings against a showman who had his tent at the fair grounds. She had recently loaned him $10 with which to pay board while at Rosedale and caused the warrant to

issued to recover the money, but

soon after the case was commenced the plaintiff met the defefmant-'s wife on the street and to save her husband she pawned her jewelry to pay the debt and stopped the suit.

DOUBLE HANGING AT LITTLE ROCK.

LITTJ.EROCK, August .'1.—[Special.]— Win. Walker, colored, and Jack Spaniard, a Choctaw Indian, were hanged at Ft. Smith to-day for murder. Spaniard killed Deputy United States Marshal Erwin in the Choctaw nation Speptember l.sth, 1.HH5, shooting him on the roadside. The execution of these murderers was set for August Wh, but President Harrison granted a respite until to-day.

Liabilities: (ieneral, $1,818,481.18. This will be swelled by probable additional absolute liabilities to $2,243,481.18.
