Maud Granger plays ia Vmcennes to night. W. W. Sibley is going to open a novelty store in this city.

Mrs. Scott Siddons is said to be a woman of rare beauty. Miss Lena Rudford, of Alvin, 111., is visiting in the city.

Miss Sarah Jordan, of this city, is in Indianapolis visiting relatives. .Charlie Newton, of Chicago, was in the city a short time this morning.

H. Y. Busbnell. general agent of the C. & E. I. R- R., was in 8t. Louis yesterday.

Plenum.

The Above named individual disappointed the curious vigilants about Wall street yesterday who thought he was coming to the city to place himself in the hands of justico. It is now thought that the 8heriff will have to perform bis unpleasant duty and tender the desperado a personal invitation to board with him awhile. The Grand Jury indicted Pierson for murder last Monday, but the Sheriff genteely requested us to say nothing of it as trouble might arise in getting the man to come to the city.

It is evident that the officers are emharassed and are not in a hurry to bring the man to account. This state of affairs howevrr cannot last long and sooner or later the warrant will have to be taken by the proper officials and executed according to the law.

Mr. Fred Sillier returned to the city todav, the Comets having dissolved at Cairo. Wc-regrot to learn from Mr. Miller that what Mr. Dillon stated on the stage, as a ruse to bring him forward for the presenta'Jan, was known to that gentleman, a sad fact—that there was Jealousy among the actors, or rather the actresses. Miss Martha Wren, who played lletie, the school girl, has too much genius* and received too much applause for the other beauties. It was apparent that all the ladief strove to shine, but the audiences did hot know the motives and reaped the benefit, but the rapturous applause Misa Wren received here seems to lave been the feather that broke the '•hump-back camomile** and open rebillion occuml at Paducah and dissolution at Cairn Mr. Miller will proceed ttf organise a new company and has already had propositions from severmi parties to start anew. Before going out again he will remodel the piece somewhat, put in a couple of uew characters and some new features which hit experience has suggestde. and citpecis to have Miss Wren in bin company.
