Col. Cookerly will deliver an address to the Democratic portion of Fayetee Township at Hayes school House to-night.

Emll Baur of Terre Haute was in the city last Thursday on Business. Miss Bettie Milam of Terre Haute, is in the city visiting friends.
General Hunter shipped three car loads of hogs to Terre Haute, last Saturday. A large number of our citizens attended the fair and Barnum at Terre Haute yesterday.
Rev. G. P. Peal will preach at Christian church to-morrow morning and evening. Mrs. C. R. Hend3rson returns to day from Lafayette.
Miss Anna Frazier who has been visiting friends in the county sometime, returned tojier home in Terre Haute Thursday.
Hattie Lease of Terre Haute, is visiting the family of 8. D. Mitcliel, of this place. Miss Lydia A. Little, of Terre Haute, was in the city visiting, this week she was the guest of Misses Ida and Mattie Casey. She returned to her home Tuesday.

The attention of the public is called to the great distance each carrier is obliged to walk, and parties living & distance back iii yards are earnestly requested to place boxes in their front doors or in such other convenient places as will facilitate tlu prompt delivery of mail. Carriers areaotallowr to wait longer than 80 seconds for an answer to ft bell, and after waiting that long and receiving np answer, he must retain the mall until »4e next d«" tlvery. Carriers are obliged to lie prompt, and do their work quickly, but under no circumstance to be impolite or discourteous, and any such shouU be Immediately reported to the Post Master.
