Democratic Editor Smote hisConcience gives up his old Views of Politics.

Jason Brown, editor of the Bowling Green Review, after carefully weighing the qpestion of political principles, has concluded that, although he haa been fight ing for Democracy, that he was spurred on only by prejudice, and that after careful study of the character of botli sides, he cannot concientiously do as he has done, and that his paper has made its last issue in favor, of the Democratic party. We are glad to lean that one man at the head of a Democratic organ has had the will power and good sence to lay his party passion aside and take a clear view of the subject which is the all important question, as to what shall become of our government. We are glad to welcome Mr. Brown to our ranks, and hope that he will grow strong in the faitn, and we are sufe that in time to come he will never regret the step" he has taken to ameloriate to good of the country.

Ohmer'a depot Hotel.

We were on Saturday evening the fortunate recipient of an invitation to dine with a party of friends at Ohmcr's Depot Hotel. We cannot refrain from saying it was one of the happiest occasions of our life. We were taken in charge by that splendid gentleman and accom 'plished hotel man Mr. Taggart. If there is any man who knows how to run a hotel he is the man. We cannot do justice to the splendid table to which we sat down It fairly groaned under the very best of the season. Everything was served in the very best and finest of style. The cosy homelike dining room is the pleasantest we ever had the good fortune lo nter. The kindness and politeness of of Mr, Taggart and the attentions of servants prove that the reputation this house enjoys is deserved.

The greatest care seems to be bestowed upon everything that goes upon the table, and nothing comes on, that docs not add to one's appetite. There is no better table in the Slate of Indiana than is to be found there. The very finest imported wines are kept constantly on hand and that which we had the pleasure of drinking was perfectly delicious.

The thing which marks this house above some hotels that make great pretentions, is the scrupulous neatness of verythingand the considerate attention which every one receives. It is becoming fashionable for persons up town to go there for their meals. We will ever remember the pleasant occasion of Saturday evening. May success always crown the Ohmcr Hotel.

On Sunday, the Post Office Is |open from 9 to 10 o'clock a m, and persons desiring their mall can call at the window designated by the number of their carrier.

Receiving boxes have been placed on every cor ner of Main street to enable persons residing near it to avail themselves of the frequent collection made thereon with a very short walk.

The attention of the public is called to the great distance each carrier Is obliged to walk, ana parties living a distance back in yards arc earnestly requested to place boxes in their front doors or in such other convenient places as will facilitate the prompt delivery of mall. Carriers areuot allowed to wait longer than 30 seconds for an answer to a bell, and after waiting that long and receiving no answer, he must retain the mall until ue nextae* livery. Carriers are obliged to be prompt, and to do their work quickly, but under no circumstances to be impolite or discourteous, and anyeuch should be immediately reported to the Post Master. North side of Main street, between 5th and 7th streets north from Main lo city limits, including to the allev between 7th and 8th and to the alley .\ between 4th and 5th streets also, 8th, 9th ana 10th streets, north of 3d avenne.

SECOND DISTRICT—JohnKuppenhelmer,Carrier. The sonth side of Main street, between ftth and 6th, and all territory between 4th and 0^4 streets south to the city limits, including to tl.u alley be tween 8d and 4th streets and to tlie allev hetweea and 7th streets al*o 7th street south of DEMIng to city limits.

THIRD DISTRICT—James Johnson, Carrier. The south side of Main street, from the river to 5th street, and all territory west of the alley between 3d and 4th streets south to city limits.

FOURTH DisTiucT—Frnnk Sibley, Carrier. The north side of Main street, from the river to 5th street, and all territory west of the alley between 4th and 5th streets, and north to the city limits.

FIFTH DISTRICT—Frank M. Mills, Carrier. The north side of Main street, from 7th to the old canal, between 0th and 10th streets, and all territory from the alley between 7th and 8th streets east to the Vandalia Rlt., north to 3d nvenue, and all territory north of the Vandolla Rlt., east 10th street to city limits.

SIXTH DISTRICT-John R. Byers, Carrier. The south side of Main, between Oth and 7th streets, from the alley betweenand 7th streets, east to the old canal, south to Doming,and all territory cast on Poplar strcetand south to city limits.
