LOXDOK,

Mav 26.—It is beginning to bo

developed that there are serious discords in the ranks ot the Liberals, which are daily extending and increasing in magni tude. These differences are now aggravated by information that the queen demands the retention of Sir Bartle Frere, and that Gladstone will comply with her demand. Frere's resignation or expulsion from office is strenuously urged by the great mass of Liberals, who claim that his retention is an outrage upon the public sentiment of England. Lpon this question the Conservatives take direct issue, and their apparent victory, ach ieved thus early in the Administration, has greatly nettled the Liberal leaders. The Queen is absent. Extensive preparations are being made for the to-morrow.

BUCHAREST, May 26.—Official reports from the Black Sea coast districts of Bul-
