Mr. Woodside is charged with falsehood and immorality for having, without Presbyterian authority and sanction and in direct contravention of the will of the Pittsburg Presbytery, assumed the Pastorate of the First Presbyterian Church of Pittsburgh, and for having refused to yield his place to Rev. Geo. W. Browell, whom the Pittsburg Presbytery appointed to the place for being the cause of in citing Christians hitherto of fair name to committing riot in the LoM's house on the Sabbath day, and for having lied and prevaricated.

Grant and party visited Lincoln monument and other points, and this afternoon they were escorted from the Executive mansion to the State house by a procession.. Here Gen. J. M. Palmer delivered an address of welcome, to which Grant responded in a brief speech. At the conclusion of his speech a public reception was held in the Governor's oftlce, and this evening the General and Mrs. Grant received at the Executive mansion. In a day or two after the marriage Bradford disappeared and was gone about, two weeks, and on returning refused to live with
her.
Last Monday he was arrested
and taken to Danville, where he was bound aver to await the action of the Court.

WASHINGTON, May 5.—There is a good deal of adjournment talk nowadays, and a general belief that Congress can get through by the 1st of June, if it attends strictly to business. The Appropriations Committee Is a little slow. The President's veto of the Deficiency Bill is laughefl at by the Democrats. Items in the vetoed bill will be placed in the Gen cral Deficiency Bill, and Deputy Mar shals provided for as usual. .... 4

PITTSBURG, PKNN., May 5.—The Western Iron Association met at 11 o'clock this morning and decided to reduce the low rate of bar iron from its present status of 8 1-5 cents to 2 12 ccnts. The reason for the further decrease assigned is the entire absence of orders and the desire to stimulate the market. The meeting was very quietly and somewhat mysteriously held, and outside the man* ufacturers themselves few knew of it. Indeed several mcmlicrs of the Association did not know the meeting was to be held until this morning. It was decided on Monday to call the meeting, and the members distant from the citv were on that day notified hy telegraph. On Tuesday notice was sent out to the member* in the city. There waa practically a full meeting.

Oil tram 4 Co., cotton manufacturers at Preston, suspended. Liabilities for dif-
ference on contracts for cotton to arrive from £20.000 to £35,000. A dispatch from Dublin says: "Mr. Parnell paid a farewell visit to Novan yesterday to announce to the voters of County Heath, that he had definitely decided to sit for Cork. There was a pre liminaiy conference of Roman Catholic Bishops and clergy, who unanimously resolved to accept as satisfactory Mr. Parnell's reason for leaving Meath. and by a majority decided to a dopt Mr. A. M. Sullivan as his successor provided he felt at liberty to co-operate cordiallylwith Mr. Parnell in parliament. A public open air meeting waa held in the evening, and announcement of Mr. Sullivan's name elicited cheers and cries of "No." There were several hand to hand fights amongtlie partisans of the rival candidates, Messrs, Drake and Suili van. Police were obliged to interfere several times to protect Mr. Drakes' partisans from maltreatment. Mr. Parnell said that if he had consulted his own incli nation, he would represent Meath. but if he did so Cork would l»e undoubtedly lost.

Germany.
BERLIN, May 5.—In the debate on the Anti-Socialist Bill in the Reichstag, yesterday, Ilerr Hasselman made.a declaration of the political creed, which caused considerable commotion. He said that in Russin the anarchists had risen against despotism. In France the Commune had done so, and he hoped the German workinmnen would follow their example. He said he-identified himself with the ener getic revolutionary feeling of the people, and regretted that once before in the Reichstag it was denied on the part of the Socialists that they had" any connection with Russian anarchists. He declared that he accepted the connection, but spoke, of course, only for himself, not knowing how far his colleagues agreed with him. He was convinced that belief was gaiuing ground among the jwople that the days of Parliamentary palavering were over. Hasselman was called to order.
LONDON, May !.—A Berlin correspondent says the discontent in Germany may be judged byjthe tide of emigration. It is estimated that during the past thirty years, two and a half millions of people have emigrated.
According to statements of sonu^mein bcrs of the Reichstag, Bismarck used expressions at the Parliamentary
soiree,
on
the 4th inst... which render it almost eer tain that a bill will be presented in the Prussian Diet, giving the Government more discretion In regard to applying the May laws, in order to bring about an agreement with the Vatican.
