LAFAYKTTK, March 14. --The LaFavet te Journal to-night received a special, from Logansport announcing the capture of Moynihau, who is under sentence of death for the murder of Raymond at that place last September. He was found in a col ored woman's house, near the Pan-IIan-dle shops armed with/ a shot gun, but made no resistance when, the sheriffs posse captured him. The reward, $500, was divided between two police officers, who assisted in taking hitn.
CINCINNATI, March 13.—Last hight three dangerous prisoners escaped from jail at Frankfort, Kentucky by prying a stone fn the beilihg of the cell out Of position, and passing between the ceiling and rOof and making a hole in thie brick gable, thence dowu the outside wall. They were R. Mosby (Wliite), who murdered Oliver in Anderson county a year ago, Frank Sims (colored), convicted of malicious cuts ting, and under sfcnttnce to the peniterttiaiy, and George Hnzelwood (colored), under ihdictmerit for attempted poisoning.
LONDON, March 13»—The steauier Montana, Captain Ga4d, from New York, March 2, which arrived at Queenstown yesterday and proceeded to Liverpool, is qn the rocks in Church bay. NBW YORK, March 14.—The National Assembly rooms, on West Forty-fourth street* were densely crowded to-day by nearly 4,000 piano makers, who are interested in the great "lock-out" ordered by the New York Piano Manufacturers' Association, for to-morrow morning. Offers of pecuniary assistance were received from various trades unions, and the strik ers say they will be able to hold out for a year, if necessary. Resolutions were adopted declaring the action of all man ufacturers in closing their factories as most unjustifiable. It was also resolved to hold out until their terms are complied with.
CLEVELAND, March 14.—The Ohio Temperance convention was held yesterday at Alliance. Three hundred and twentythree delegate*were present. Resolutions were adopted to sustain principles rather than party recommending no separate Prohibition party, but to labor in caucuses and at the polls to secure sober men for officials indorsing legal suasion as a proper means for the suppression of the beverage traffic in intoxicants, and protection from the evils arising tfierefrom protesting again*t the present permissive statutes which sanction the sale of ale, beer and domestic wine*, *nd praying for a local option anti Hfltwr law, with clauses allowing sale on payment of taxes therefor, but allowing U» voice of women, by paction or ballot, to be equal to that of man in the enforcement of such a law.

Gidedn Carson ima his Wiffe hajve been living the past winter in an old school house in the outskirts of the vil lage, in the most abject poverty*, intansi fled by Carson's intemperance and ill health. He has been known to be'Vdry violent in temper ^rhen drunk. At six q'clock to-night a young man who Wanted to get Mrs Carson to do some gashing to-morrow, nipped at tiie door. Getting no response, he entered, and found tluroom in utterconfusion. Mrs. Cahton lav on. the frontpart of tiie bed, murdered. A portion of her left cheek was entirely Cut off, which he afterwards found in a bowl. The fatal blow toad apparently been given with a hatohet. The (Hrnme'r was called, when it was found that Mrs Carsou was entirely' nude, being covered with a' bed tick, and her husband was lying in a dftwken stupor 011 the back part of the bed. He was taketi to jail .where he roused enough to say he knew his wife was deaid that she, was killed about one o'clock, but said he did not know who did it.
