.V V^ «Mwer «, ^, Baltimore. Sun, March 5: Those who, Were out soon after suniisfe yesterday mocningk when it was quite warm, with at mild atmosphere, observed thousands of worms crawling oh the Streets and side-' walks. They were seen la great numbers In North Baltimore, o^ U)|LJttUd pavement on North avenue, leading from Charles street to Tork road. They were very much like the common mud or fish-7 Ing worm, varying in length fTom three to eight or nine inches, with quit? a laqye. flat head and sharp tail, rough surface,
from one-eighth to threfe-elghths of an inch in circumference, and brown in color Some were dead or motionless, others conformation about them, differing materially from the fish-worm. It was ab»o-, lutely impossible for them to have come out through the solid SchHllng^r paveif ment hence, the hypothec is that they were rained down .during ^he shower of Wednesday night, and must have descend ed from a mild atmosphere in the upper! regions. When the sun's heat grew move powerful, most of them died or withered luto seeming inanimate nothingness,, and, finally disappeared. Such a natural plie nomenon, though rare, is within the recol lection of many TSalrtmore'ans."
