This club is composed mostly of vonng men, all laboring men. The question of labor protection should be examined carefully bv you. and if the Republican party is not the friend and protector of labor, then you should disband and never vote the Republican ticket again. Examine the history of the Republican party and you will find Mi at the Men which gave rise to the Republican party was born among your own people in the South, where stolid labor wasj, lashed by the ruthless hands of Democracy, and where chains rattled and whips were hissing as your fathers aud mothers were dragged by brutal might to the auction block, UHH* mk\ and bought by whom—Democrats.

We have received the first few issues of the DAILY TERRE HAUTE NEWS, and contrary to custom with exchanges, have read the entire paper. We like it. We do not mean to say there is room in that city for another daily, or even another paper of any kind but if there is, the NKWS will fill the bill. It is mildly Republican, very local in flavor, goes at 10 cents a week, an to or a

The DAILY NEWS, a three cent paper, 213^x18^- published at Terre Haute, Indiana, comes to our office a welcome visitor. Edited by Frank Seaman, and pub* lished by Seaman, Lewis fc Co., it promises to establish itself among the cheap little daily successes of the times, a promise which we hope to see realised.
Danville (111*.) Dally Sews.
The TERRE HAUTE NEWS professes to be independent in politics, ami yet says, "the NEWS believes in the highest form of liberty: there should IK? 110 social or civil distinction in race, color or religion." The NEWS believes, too, that this is a Nation with a big N." There, that's enough to prove beyond doubt that a Republican wrote that article, and declared his politics in declaring his independence. That sort of light can't be hid under a bushel of independence it will shine.
William»|orl Republican.
The DAILY NEWS, an evening paper just started at Terre Haute, Indiana, and published by Messrs Seaman, Lewis & Co., comes to us in a neat form, ne»v type, spicy and newsy. While it is independent 111 speech, it is sound in Republican doctrine. For the gentlemen starting in this enterprise we have the kindliest feelings. and wish them that success which their veuture should have. Terre Haute cannot have too many papers like the NEWS, and we hope the Republicans throughout Vigo county will take the matter in hand and see that the paper is placed at once upon a sound basis by their liberal support and hearty endorsement.
Newport lloosier Stale.
The first number of the DAILY TERRE HAUTE NEWS was printed on Thursday last. The publishers are Seaman, Lewi's & Co. Their paper is small, but full of vim. and we predict will make a success. It is printed at the low price of 1') cents a week. It is independent in politics and religion, and a paper that will be highly appreciated by the people of Tern? Haute and surrounding towns. Frank Seaman, its head man%6r, is a good writer and one among the best printers in the State.
Paris (111.) Gazette.
We have received a copy of the new evening paper, the DAILY NEWS, of Terre Haute. It js published by Seaman, Lewis & Co. It is a small, but a neatly printed five column folio, aud shows enterprise and snap. We have uo doubt the publishers will be compelled to en large it before long. .i
Veedersbnrg Reporter.
Several numbers of the DAILY TERRE HAI TE NEWS have been received at the Reporter office. The NEWS is a 20-col-umn paper, published daily at 10 cents a week. Its make up and typographical neatness cannot be excelled. Frank Seaman, one of the most competent printers in tJie country, is at its head, and the author of the "Glum Iron Spade," shines through its columns with undimned brilliancy. It has our sincere wishes for its future success.
Robinson (Ills.) Argus.
We have received some four or five numbers of anew daily paper started in Terre Haute last Thursday by Seaman, Lewis & Co., with Frank Seaman as editor and manager. The paper is a model of typographical neatness and is ably conducted, a fact of which no one who knows Mr Seaman need be assured. With proper encouragement from the people of Terre Haute the paper will prove an auxilary to the business thrift of the city.
Montezuma Era.
The DAILY TERRK IIAUTE NEWS, a'new, paper just started in that city by Seaman, Lewis & Co., is a welcome guest at this office. The paper is all that the name implies—a newsy sheet. Mr Seaman is a thorough printer, a fluent writer, and will doubtless receive a hearty support from all who appreciate a first-class daily.,,
Terre llante Courier, Feb. !W.
The DAILY NEWS has now been published a little over a week, and is settling down to business in good style. It is as neat as can be. and as it adjusts itself to the situation of affaire and gets the lay of the land hereabouts, will fill a want long felt in evening journalism. The price being only 10 cents per week, it ought to secure a very large circulation.

Frank Seaman, one of the best printers in the State, and his brother-in-law, William Lewis, have started a daily evening paper at Terre Haute. Frank is an able editor, and his little paper is spicy and very neat" typographically.

Marshall (111*.) Messenger.
Wc have received a few copies of a very spicy little daily, entitled the DAILY TKRRK HAUTE NEWS, published by Seaman, Lewis «fc Co., Terre Haute. Ind. It is a small, newsy sheet. Everything is condensed into the smallest compass. The readers can obtain all the news in a brief period of lime. The NEWS is published ror the small sum of 10 cents a week, or three cents a copy. We know of no paper that fills the demands of a fast age more completely than the NEWS. By obtaining the NEWS, you get all the .general news boiled down, and all the local news in brief. The mechanical part of the NEWS is without a fault. The print isso perfect and tastily executed that a comparatively blind man rait read it with ease. Every business man of this city or county should have one. Its only fault is, it leans toward Republicanism
Attica Ledger.
The first numbers of the DAILY TKRRK HAUTE NEWS are before us (or were before us until we sold 'em for dress patterns) [baby dress patterns, we suppose.— ED. NEWS.] and impressed us very favorably. It is the joint production of Messrs Seaman, Lewis & Co. Seaman is none other than Frank Seaman, author of that most exquisifee Hoosier poem entitled "Two," than which there is none sweeter in the English language. May the new daily flourish like a tree planted by the rivers of water.

The Ligonier Banner comes down, and now really don't see how it can support the Constitutional Amendments. The new light being thrown on these wneudments, inducing all the Democrats or the State to resist them, is really remarkable. We are rejoiced to know that Governor Williams still stands firm in his determination to support the amendment.—Indianapoliii Journal.
