House Heating by Water Power.
The management of the recently completed Lachlne Rapids plant, on the St. Lawrence, announces its Intention of entering the field of domestic heating in competition with anthracite coal. The comparatively high coal rate, combined With the low cost of the electric power, as developed by this water power plant, will permit of its adoption for cooking purposes, at least on the score of economy, with all its acknowledged advantages as an additional inducement/ About 25,000 horsepower has been obtained in this plant at a cost of nearly $2,000,000.
