The lake and rail arrangements of the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad for this year are practically the same as were in effect in 1897. Freight for Lake Superior ports is sent by way of the Northern Steamship Company and the Owen line is used for the Lake Michigan ports. The trans-Lake Erie arrangements are with the Detroit Steam Navigation Company between Cleveland and Detroit and the Ashley and Dustin line and the Michigan and Ohio Car Ferry Company between Sandusky and Detroit.
