A large and jolly serenading party visited the br.do and groom, Mr. and Mrs. J. 8. AloEwen, at their home last night and gave two or three very pleasing vocal selections, after uhioh they were invited withiu and gave greetings and congratulations. These had hardly been seated, when without on the midnigl t air rang out the olatter of bells and pans and other weird notes that nsnnlly ttend a ohirivari from the mischievous youth in the neighborhood, but when discovered in this instance the crowd eomprised about a dozen of the most charming l»dy friends of the bride and groom, with but one exception wives and mothers, whom it had been supposed had retired from engaging in rev lries and noetnrual demonstrations, bi t whom the spirits seem to have inspired in this instance to become yon g again, if “but for tonight,” aDd makejamerry, jol’y bedlam. T < se, too, were heartily welcomed und greeted the newly wedded couple wit well wishes. After some merrymaking and a musical volley from the chirivari, th*. friends departed.
