Facts Concerning the Brain.
Estimating that the world contains 1,400,000,000 people a statistician figures that their brains weigh 1,922,712 tons. This averages about 40 ounces per isead. Physiologists give the average weight of an adult male brain at 48 ounces, and of a female 43 ounces. The calculations of a German biologist shows that each human brain contains 300,000,000 nerve cells, 6,000,000 of which die and are succeeded by new ones each day. Hence there should be about 676,713,600,000,000 brain cells in the world. Everywhere and always a man's worth must be gauged to some extent, though only in part, by his domeĀ» tldtg.
