Jeffries pave an entertainment con sist ing of recitations of Poetical and Prose Selections chosen from Shakspeare and other distinguished authors, in Ellis’ New Opera House, last Tuesday evening, before, a large aha appreciative audience For a number of years before he entered upon the active work of the chris* ian minrerty, Mr. Jeffries was a prof - ssional Elocutionist. He has f;iven Readings in many of the argest churches public halls of the cities of Fittsburg and Allegheny, and in many other places in Pennsylvania and Ohio.
