NOTICE OF APPLICATION FOR LIGENBE. Notice is hereby given to the citizens o the Town of Remington and of Carpenter township, in Jasper county, State of Indiana, thst i!. tv jrsigned Jasper M. Baker, of Remington, Indiana, a male inhabitant of the State of India .a, and of said county, and over the age of twentyone years, who has been and is of good moral character, not in the habit of becoming intoxicated, and a fit person in every re pect to be intrusted with the sale or intoxic ting liquors, and has been a continuous resident of said Township ind Town for over i inety days last past, and that this applicant is the actua owner and proprietor of said business, and will be such if license be granted, will apply to the Board of Commissioners of said Jasper county, Indiana, at th-ir June Term, 1897, said term commencing on Monday, June 7th, 1897, for a license to sell and barter spirituous, vinous, malt and all other intoxicating liquors in any quantity, also in a less quantity than five gallons and in less quantity than a quart at a tima with the privilege of allowing and permitting the same to be drank on the following premises, to-wit:
The precise location of the premises on which the undersigned des.res to sell and barter with the privilege of allowing the same to be drank thereon, is on the lower floor of a two story frame metal covered building located on Lot numbered six [6], in block numbered eight [B], in the original plat of the Town of Remington, Carpenter township. Jasper county, Indiana, and the room in said i uilding n which he desir s to sell is specifically by outside measurement described as follows: Commencing twenty-flve [2s] feet west of the south-east corner of said Lot numbered six [6], in Block number eight [B] in said original Pl.t of the Town of Remington, Indiana, and running thence north fifty [so] feet and four [4]'inches, thence west twenty [2o] feet ana two [2] inches thence south fifty [so] feet and four [4] inches, and thence east twenty [2o] feet and two [2] inches to the place of beginning; and interior ceiling eleven feet high. That the said described room is separate from any other business of any kind, and that no devio.s for amusement or music of any kind or character is in said room and that there is no partiiion cr partitions in said room; that the said room can be securely closed and locked and admission thereto prevented; that said room is situated upon the g ound floor in said building on said lot and fronts to the south, facing t e Railrord, and Railroad street, being a public street between said said railroad and said block in saiu Town and is so arranged with glass windows and glass doors so that the whole of said room may be viewed from thes id street. The said room has double doors in the south with glass therein and also large glass windows on each side of said doors in the south; no doors or windows on the east nor on the west; on the north there arc two d'ors and windows. This applicant will also ask for the privilege of selling tobacco and cigars in connection therewith. Said license will be asked for a period of one year fr m date of issuing license.
