A Card From the Coroner.
The article concerning the Coroner for, as the writer sa s, uula vful y holding an inquest upon the body of a man who fell d<-aci upon the street, February Ist, 1897, in Rensselaer. I will simply quote the law on the point which designates the duties of the Coroner very plainly, to. wit: “Every CkvoLer, as soou as soon as he shall be notified I hat the dead body of any person suoposed to have come to his dea.li by viole ce or casualty is within bis coußtv shall immediately proceed to inquire upon view of the body how and in what manner he came to his death. Page 634, sec. 7954. Rev sion of Indiana statutes of 1894. Now the writer of the article states that everybody knew he died w ; th the paralysis of the brain.— The examining physician says that be died from paralysis of the heart. Of course the writer knew and answered for everybody. If the writ r had wi liheld his article until he Lad read the evidence ta ken at the inquest he would likely havesuppiessed his venomous peti. Now referringto the section of law quoted, would like to have the woid cans unity defined, and see if it does not cover tbs case referred to.
