Those who use incubators and are disappointed when they succeed In hatching only 60 or 70 per cent of the eggs, must not overlook the fact that bene do no better. It is true that a hen will sometimes bring off a dozen chicks from as many eggs, but other hens may hatch only two or three chicks. The average number of chicks hatched. If ten or twenty hens are allowed to sit at the same time, will not exceed 50 per cent.
