City To Celebrate.
THE FOURTH OF JULY WILL BE A BIG DAY IN RENSSELAER. THE PRELIMINARY PREPARATIONS NOW IN PROGRESS. The City of Rensselaer will celebrate the Fourth of July in good shape this year. That faet was fully decided at a well attended meeting of Representative citizens, held at the court house, last Friday evening. The full scope of the celebration has not yet, of course been fully determined upon; but in the hands of the able committees, to which the preparation of the celebration has been entrusted, it is bound to be a great success. The following is the list of committees, appointed at the meeting above referred to: On Finance: E. P. Honan, T. J. McCoy, G. W. Goff. On Music: J. F. Warren, H. L. Brown, Halo Warner, Mrs. Eva Foltz, Mrs. C. D. Martin, Miss. Carrie Eger. On Amusements: Fred Phillips, E. P. Honan, Shelby Grant, J. T. Sayler, S. Healy, Simon Phillips. On Program and Speaker: W. B. Austin, B.F. Fendig, A. H. Hopkins. On Artillery: J. W. Childers, T. J. Joyner, Isaac Glazebrook, M. L. Hemphill. On Arrangements: H. J. Dexter, C. C. Warner, Geo. E. Murray. On Grounds: J. W. .Jessup, C. Platt, M. Banes, C. W. Hanley. On Decorations: Mesdames, J. M. Wasson, J. F. Warren, M. L. Spitler; Misses Susie Parker, Maggie Healy. On Advertising: Alfred Bates and the Newspaper Editors. The meeting adjourned to meet Friday night, June 12, at the court house, at 7:30 P. M. Members of all committees especially req jested to be present; also all others interested.
