Gigantic Lizards.

One must stretch his fancy almost to the breaking point t» imagine a lizard 100 feet in length, but that such a crea-

ture formerly existed In various parts of the United States there Is not the least doubt. The remains of such enormous reptiles have been found In Colorado, Arizona, Oregon, Montana, South Dakota, Maryland, Virginia and tho two Cnrollnas. They belonged to a family of extinct reptiles known to the geologists ns dinosaurs, and tho remains found In tho marl beds of tho four last States mentioned above provo that tho Western varieties were much tho larger. Professor O. 0. Marsh, of Yale College, found dinosaur remains in Colorado from which bo restored a skeleton upward of 125 feet In length. Tho largest found In tho Eastern marl bods was less than, fifty feet in length.
