Over these compartments are three separate movable covers, which slide to one side or the other, thus always leaving one compartment open, it being the object of the device to leave open the compartment in which is placed the bill Just received, so that it may be in sight until the transaction is completed, and may be the only bill seen when the drawer Is next opened. The position of the lids is secured by a locking device at the back, and a separate alarm-lock la fitted in the drawer.
