Republican papers now say that while wages have been increased in the United States “there has been no increase in European countries.” Bu/ when the Wilson tariff reform bill was pending before congress they said that if it became a law it would lower wages at home and increase them abroad. The Democrats claimed just to the contrary, and have only to point to the columns of the Republican press, now crowded as they are with the reports of the increase of wages, to substantiate it.
