A New Church. The Eldeis and Trustees of the Presbyterian church, of Rensselaer, appointed to consider and act upon the proposition to erect a new church edifice, comprising the following named gentlemen:— Elders—John Coen, Fletcher Monnett, D. E. Hollister, E. L. Hollingsworth, and G. K. Hollingswoith; trustees—F. J Sears, M. F. Chilcote, E. D. Rhoades, Win. B. Austin and John Eger; Pursuant to request, met at the law office of M. F. Chilcote last Monday evening and orga lized by ihe election of the following officers:
CLairman-Thomas J McCoy. Secretary—George K. Hollingsworth. Treasurer—E. L. Hollingsworth. A discussion of rhe situation revealed the fac' that the pr spcct for securing the necessary funds was bright a d cheering. The health of worshippers demanded a new edifice, and the enterprise and push of the citize is of Rensselaer required a more handsome, substantial and commodious structure than that now occupied in which io honor and serve God. It was unanimously and enthusiastically agreed that steps be immediately taken to carry on to rapid and successful completion the object for which the committee was appointed.
Bev. M. R. Paradis has accepted the call to the pastorate of ths Presbyterian church at this place. By appointment ox Presbytery Dr. Putnam and Rev. H. A. Perc val, of Loganspcrt, and Rev. JEL G. Rice, of Aiontice'lo will conduct the installation services at the Presbyterian church, Rensselaer, on the evening of the second Tuesday in M .y next.
